Surrender The Night

Finally. It was October 30. The day I've been planning to tell Frank my true feelings for him. I really did like him a lot. I'll probably fall in love with him someday actually. But that isn't exactly enough for me. I want the feeling to be mutual. I really hope that it is.

I'm standing outside my basement door, where him and my little bro Mikey are probably playing videogames and shit. Strangely though, I don't hear their usual yelling about how one of them creamed the other. I turn the handle and start to walk down. Even weirder, I don't hear the shooting sounds of their violent videogame or the slightly annoying music of Mario Kart. The silence was unsettling. I turner the corner to the area where the TV and Xbox where held and The game was on pause. No sign of either of them. Untill I heard a sound coming from the back of the room. It was Mikey. Cornering Frank. More importantly, Mikey was kissing him.

\\ ONE WEEK EARLIER \\

It was a cold day for October. Frank, Mikey, and I were all walking back from school, heading over to mine and Mikey's like we usually do after school. It was a Friday and our mom was off on a business trip for the weekend so we figured we'd have a chill session tonight with Ray, but he had to go home and tell his parents before coming over. Mikey went up to his room, got his wallet, and was out the door before me and Frank even got to the kitchen.
"Imma go to the comic shop before ray gets here okay? A new comic was released and I wanna buy it before it sells out!" Mikey said as he closed the door behind him.
It was just me, and Frank. To be honest, I've always had a slight crush on him. Short. Adorable. Puppy dog eyes. What more can I ask for honestly? And he had the BEST sense of humor. He was perfectly, imperfect. The best part was, I knew he was gay too. I didn't need to worry about the possible chance of straightness. Sure he had dated girls before, but so have I, and that was when we were young and unsure.

He got out a coke from the fridge and sat down on the couch. Patting the spot next to him, signaling for me to join him. I personally hated coke. I preferred dr.pepper. So I got one from the fridge and sat down next to him. He was flipping through the channels when Doctor Who came on. He stopped at it and looked over to me. He knew I loved this show. I smiled and nodded and I could have sworn he scooted closer to me. I was so tempted to put and arm around him, but I didn't want to risk it, anyway, I was planning on confessing to him next week, the day before his birthday.

I opened up my drink and we sat there in silence, watching, and waiting for either Mikey or Ray to come. Finally, after about half an hour, the both walked through the door together, closing it behind them. Did they agree to meet up at the comic shop? I don't know, and I honestly didn't care at that point, I was on my third dr.pepper and if it was possible to get drunk on soda, I definitely was not sober. Frank turned off the TV in the living room and we headed to the basement to play videogames on the Xbox. I grabbed a couple more sodas for Ray and Mikey, and we eventually ended up playing till 3am. Frank fell asleep on the couch, Ray had left, and Mikey went up to his room. My room was also upstairs, but I didn't want to leave Frank alone, so I slept on the guest bed in the basement. This night was perfect. And I couldn't wait till next week to tell Frank.
