It Started With An Alright Scene

Gerard's Pov
As soon as the pills hit my stomach i felt tired. I lay down on my bed and closed my eyes. I didn't fall asleep for hours, though. When I did finally fall asleep, i didn't have any dreams.

I opened my eyes and sat up. The sun was shining bright through the tiny window in the corner of the room. I stood up out of my bed and walked to the door. I waited for it to buzz, then opened it. I walked through and was greeted by Dr. Bellato. "Good afternoon, Gerard. Did you sleep well?" It was already noon? "Yes, thank you." She gave me a fake smile. "Well, lunch is being served." I nodded my head and walked past her. I walked to the cafeteria and sat down at my usual table. I stared at my fingers for a while before a pair of black Toms came into view. I looked up and saw Salem. Her mouth was taped shut. I gave her questioning look and her eyes pleaded me to stop, so i did. It made me mad that someone would do that to her. She hasn't done anything wrong the whole time she's been here.
I was about to stand up when the same old woman came to me with my pills. I took them from her and thanked her. I put them in my mouth and swallowed. I smiled at her again and she gave Salem her pills. After she left i looked at Salem. She held a finger up to her taped mouth and quickly threw her pills in the trash.
I left the cafeteria and went to the recreation room. When i went in, Dr. Bellato was there. She stood up and walked toward me. "Gerard, did you have a nice lunch?" I nodded my head. "Well that's great. We need to discuss some things alright?" She motioned for me to follow her and I did. She led me to her office and told me to sit. I sat down and looked at her across the desk in between us. "Well, Gerard. I have some good news. You get to leave tomorrow." I didn't believe what I just heard. "Come again?" I asked her. She laughed. "You get to leave, Gerard. Tomorrow, your brother will come get you. It's all been arranged." I shook my head. "No." She looked confused. "Do you not want to leave?" I looked at her wide-eyed. "I do. I just don't want my brother to come get me. I want Frank to." She nodded her head and wrote something down on a slip of paper. "Alright, Gerard. That's fine. You may go to the recreation room, now." I got up out of my chair and headed for the door, then stopped before i reached it. I turned around and looked at Dr. Bellato. She looked up at me from her paper. "Yes?" I stepped closer a little more."If you don't mind me asking...What happened to Salem?" She looked hesitant. but smiled at me. "She had to be quieted. She wouldn't stop whispering at nothing and it was scaring the other patients." That kind of made me mad. She wasn't whispering at nothing.... She was talking to Bob. I shook my head and walked out the door. I ran to the recreation room. I saw Salem sitting on the pastel couch with tears streaming from her eyes. I ran up to her and she looked up at me. I reached down and ripped the tape off of her mouth. She jumped off of the couch and screamed in pain. She was holding her mouth in between her hands. I pulled her hands away and her lips were bleeding. I looked closer and saw some string coming out of her lips. They didn't just tape her mouth shut.... they sewed it.
