Chapter fourteen
Hey guys! :) Just wanted to say that this will be the last chapter to this story. Also I should be writing a sequel as soon as I finish 'The only way I'll really smile is if you cut me ear to ear'. I'm also getting really inspired lately and have at least 3 ideas for stories, please check them out when they come around. I also wanted to tell you how happy I am from all the feedback on this story. Madeline's P.O.V
Everything was sunshine and rainbows. I finally got told I could dye my hair! THANK GOD!
Frank and Samantha finally got together. Mike and Katherine have been going strong. Ray and Jessica are getting really close, like extremely. Gerard and I? Well he hasn't asked me yet but I got a feeling it won't be too long until he makes it official.
Gerard has been taking care of me ever since the accident. I went on a few missions with Nathan into Battery city, nothing too major but enough excitement to shut me up. I visited my uncle, he introduced me to Show pony. Show pony was VERY nice, he called me names from 'cutie pie' to 'sweet apple and rosemary cheeks'. It was adorable and he was adorable. Of course Gerard thought he was flirting with me... and took it too far. Show pony just laughed it off though and danced around on his roller skates.
I found out that my brother was actually a killjoy before we rescued him, well he was when we grew up but he was undercover for another group in zone 1. I was a little upset that he never found me or even tried to look for me. At least he was here now and that's all that mattered to me. Katherine has been the mother figure in our group, she cleans and cooks and makes us go to bed early. We usually just stay up anyway and sneak out when she goes to sleep.
Recently Gerard got asked to sing on Dr.Death's radio show which he accepted and the guys accepted when asked to do the music. I actually got asked by Samantha to sing on the radio as well, like sing the classics. We sung songs from 'A day to remember' to 'Bring me the horizon' and even 'Fall out boy'.
Today was when we decided to sing some random songs. She always did the beat and rhythm to the music and I just sung the words I knew.
"You ready?" Sam squealed. I nodded excitedly. Jessica grabbed the two tubes of colour and put gloves on her hands. "You sure you want these two colours? Once they're in there is no going back" Jessica warned me. "I want those two in my hair right now! I don't care if the colour was moldy green and shit brown. I want something different from white, no offense Kathy" I said, Katherine shrugged and replied with a ''It's 'kay".
The two colours were a lavender pastel and a bright teal. Jessica started to apply the hair dye just when Frank walked in with Nathan. "Hey little lady" Frank went to Samantha and kissed her on the cheek. Samantha turned a slight pink and pecked him on the lips. "Naw, someone please shoot me now before I melt from cuteness. I don't want to make a big mess on the floor" I awed and Samantha smacked my arm. "Like you can talk" Sam argued and hugged Frank. Nathan watched as the colour went into my hair.
"Now, we just have to wait 20 minutes for that to finish and then I'll do the bottom" Jessica said and put her gloved hands in a bucket of warm water. "You look so lame right now" Nathan poked his tongue out at me. "Oh shut up butt head" I retorted. "Bitch" "Ass" "Whore" "Dick" "Pig" "Cock head" "Midget" "Jerk" "Little shit" "Man-slut" "Poo face" "Idiot" "GIVE ME A HUG!" Nathan finished and I hugged him. Trying to position my head away from his.
I heard the door open and I broke off from Nathan to see Gerard. "You're finally getting your hair dyed!" He grinned. I nodded my head excitedly once more. He took a few steps to me and kissed me on the cheek. "Oops. Shit" I pointed at his red hair and he had a small spot of pastel lavender hair dye in it. "Oops" He laughed and wiped it off. "I need to re-dye my hair anyway" He shrugged it off. "Why? Your hair looks sexy as it is now" I frowned and Frank snorted. "Shut up Frank" Everyone said at the same time. He flinched back and looked at us all. "Well I don't like the roots showing..." He played with his hair and combed his fingers through it.
"Alright!" I raised my hands in defense and sat back in my seat. Jessica stood still and looked back and forth at Gerard and I. "Does that mean I get to dye your hair as well?" She asked Gerard. "Yeah" He plopped down in the chair beside mine and kicked his feet in the air like a little kid, his hands were tucked up in his lap and he was biting his lip, a look of excitement painted on his face. I giggled and shook my head. "What?" He squinted his eyes why smiling. "You look like such a little kid! It's too cute!" I laughed and he blushed.
"We have to bleach your hair first... I just found the last of our bleach" Jessica sighed and Gerard nodded. "Alright, I'm fine with that" He sat back in his chair and waited for Jess to place the bleach through his hair. She combed his hair and then put the creamed poison on his head. "What type red?" Jessica placed a few bottles in front of him. I looked at them as well and one stood out to me. I pointed at one just as he pointed at the same. I laughed and he smiled. "That one, DEFINITELY" He handed Jessica the bottle. She shook her head and chuckled.
"Remember that after you do your hair we have to go to the Radio shack" Samantha patted my shoulder and reminded me. Everyone left the room besides Jessica, Myself and Gerard.

"Ta-Da!" Jessica finished my hair and handed me a piece of mirror. I took it and looked at my hair. "Wow" was all I could say. Gerard's eyes were looking all over my face and hair. "Wow" He said. Jessica bowed and I smiled at her. Gerard's hair was finished and his hair was a brighter yet darker red from his usual firetruck red. I messed up his hair and he pouted. I gave him a small kiss and he hugged me. Jessica coughed and said something before walking out of the room.
"You look normal now" He said and played with my hair. I combed my fingers through his hair and smiled. "No more roots showing, it's different"
"Good different? Or bad different?" He raised an eyebrow. "Good different" I got on my tippie toes as he got off the chair, He leaned down and brought his lips to mine. I held onto the side of his face and passionately kissed him. I brought one of my hands to his chest and he brought his hands down to my waist.
It's kind of funny, just a week ago I would have died. I found out by the helpful doctor that I won't ever be able to die. I don't even age. I'll always be stuck in my twenties. So... Vampire.
I let him go when Samantha called out for me. "I better go" I sighed and he smiled down at me. I reached up for one more kiss and then jogged to the door, I looked back and saw him touching his lips gently and grinning. I went after Sam who was already in the car waiting.

I finished off with a bang and Samantha high fived. Dr. D smiled greatly at us, he was dancing along to the music and Show pony was skating around him.
"That's all for today, enjoy the music and keep running killjoys" I said into the microphone. Samantha said good bye and we packed our stuff up. "Hey sugar plum? Do you want anything to drink before you leave?" Pony asked me. "No! I'm fine honey buns" I smiled sweetly and he chuckled. "Did I tell you that I love your hair!" He twirled around me and I nodded. "Yes about 100 million times" I poked my tongue at him and he poked my cheek. "Put that little tongue back in the mouth before I shoot it!" You could tell he was smirking. "You wouldn't dare!" I huffed and crossed my arms.
"You're right. I wouldn't even try!" He gave me a good bye hug and skated to the kitchen. Samantha's laughter soon came after and a "Oh SHIT!". I ran to the kitchen and saw Pony lying on the ground and Sam laughing on her knees. She took a deep breath and helped Pony up. "You scared the complete shit out of me girl!" He raged at Sam before laughing. I rolled my eyes and gave my uncle a big hug. "See you in two days!" I said and waved as a laughing Samantha followed me.

We arrived back at the diner, I turned the car off and shoved the keys in my jacket. When we walked inside everyone was crowded around the radio, the song that Samantha and I did before was playing.

Gerard was tapping his foot and had his eyes closed while everyone was dancing. I ran over to the group and sang along to the music, everyone stopped dancing and turned to me. I laughed at them and they sheepishly smiled. "What can we say, you guys have rhythm" Katherine said and I looked over at Samantha she bursted into laughter and I held mine in. "How is that funny? You guys have talent!" Frank nearly shouted.
"I know!" I went to make myself a coffee. I felt a pair of hands wrap around my waist, Gerard placed his head in the crook of my neck. "I need to show you something" He murmured. He grabbed my hand and took me outside. "Where are we going Party?" I asked nervously looking around. "Just trust me!" He went over to where a hill was. We climbed over it and I stopped. It was breathtaking. The scene from on this hill, there was a mountain scenery and the hot desert was beautiful from this angle. I looked down to where Gerard was sitting and he was on a picnic blanket. Beside him was a basket and a bottle of wine, where he found this stuff? I'll never know.
"You shouldn't have!" I sat on the blanket and he opened the basket. He pulled out a bag of my favorite candy. They were called starburst. I gasped and he smiled. He pulled out a couple of sandwiches and two cups. He opened the bottle of wine and poured it in to the glasses. "For you my lady" He handed me one of the cups and I took a sip of it. I made an inhuman noise at the flavor of it.
A/N: By the way, I hate wine with a passion so yeah :) The more you know ;)
He took a sip of his drink and we began to talk about everything and nothing at all. We ate the sandwiches that I soon found out he made and chewed on the sugary candy. We sat next to each other, just watching the sun go down and enjoying each others company. It was sweet. Gerard brought his hand to my face and gently moved my head to look at him. He stared into my eyes before locking his lips on mine. It was gentle and nice. It looked like something from a cheesy romance movie. We were on a hill, picnic blanket, sunset and us two kissing in the middle of it.
When we broke apart Gerard smiled at our hands being held together. His sparkling hazel eyes looked into mine, "Madeline Lewis, will you be my girlfriend?" He whispered. "Yes" His smile got wider and he crashed his lips onto mine.

We packed up the basket and walked back to the diner, hand in hand. Everything was silent in the diner and I frowned a little. Confused. There was a note, it was stuck to the door by a knife. I snatched it off and read it.
'Consider this as a 'Hello'' it read. I was still confused. I went inside and saw everyone was unconscious on the floor. I felt my heart stop. What? "Hello darling" I turned around sharply and there he was, smug creepy smile and bland suit. "It's been a while" He laughed in an evil manner. Gerard was still holding my hand.
