So Long and Goodnight
Trapped
Gerard's POV
I don't even have to say the words, and they're already out the door after her. She's heading straight towards the office. Mr H's office. Once I reach her, I tackle her to the ground. I clasp my hand over her mouth, and she screams uselessly behind it. "Shh..." I say. And I pull her to her feet. She's struggling and kicking and punching.
Zepplin takes out what looks like an altered water gun and pulls the trigger, shooting a small dart into the side of her neck. She squeals a bit, but it doesn't seem to affect her otherwise. "What was that?" I ask
"Tracker fluid. Just in case. Human safe, but it's a metallic liquid that's traceable on my computer if I just type the number that's on the dart into my computer system. Which is..." he walks over to her and pulls the dart from her neck "Number seven. But it wears off after a month or two."
I look at him, jaw dropped in amazement for a second. "How old are you?"
He chuckles. "16." and at this, I forget I'm trying to hold down a woman. And she elbows my in the ribcage, hard. I let go and double over in pain.
Before I can make another step towards her, Lily has both her wrists behind her back with one hand and clamps a hand around the witch's throat. She slams her against a wall, letting go of her wrists just before they hit the wall, as well. With one hand on her mouth, with her elbow practically stabbing into her neck, she presses a pressure point on her neck, knocking her out in a few mere seconds.
I watch as the teacher fights it all, before her eyes forcingly close and her consciousness gives up on her. Lily just drops her onto the ground and dusts her hands on her jeans. Zepplin and Max give her a look that's a mix of impressed and shocked. And they drag the body inside, into the supply cupboard. Closing it and locking it.
Max looks horrified. "I can't believe it. We just kidnapped a teacher. WE JUST KIDNAPPED A TEACHER."
He's pacing behind us. "Ridley." I say. "Find a way to soundproof the closet for when she wakes up." She nods and goes around the room, looking for something.
Lily rolls her eyes at Max behind us, and Zepplin goes over to him, trying to talk him out of going crazy.
"Here." says Ridley She holds up a few portable fabricated door insulators, and tapes them messily against the door. She turns on the closet light so we can see the shadow of the woman. Gently, Ridley taps the door, and we can see her stirring behind the blurred glass. Eventually she wakes up and starts screaming, hitting against the sides of the door, trying to turn the handle. But her screams aren't heard, and we can barely notice her mouth opening to release them. Ridley turns off the light and feels against the door to see if she's still hitting it. She is, and now we can't even tell she's there. Perfect.
**********
It's been a few hours now. I check to see if she's still hitting the sides of the walls. Katie looks up at me. "I think she get's the message. We can probably let her out now."
I nod. "You can if you want."
She sighs and goes over to the closet door, taking off the bottom insulator and opening the door. "She must be sleeping." she says in her high, quiet voice. "Miss Wynman?" Only, she doesn't respond. "Miss? Miss Wynman?"
Zepplin walks over to her in the closet and checks her pulse. I can tell by is expression towards Katie exactly what he's about to say.
"Katie...she's dead."
