Like Ghosts In The Sun

I text my mum.
"Don't go home, dad's passed out on the floor" I write. The phone buzzes and I read the reply.
"What do you mean?" she says. I reply with "I mean he found us, shit went down, my friend knocked him out and now he's passed out on the floor." Mum doesn't reply. I slide my cellphone into my pocket.
"So what should we do with him?" asks Frank, looking at my father.
"We should just leave him. He's an asshole and he deserves it." I say quietly. My jaw hurts like shit and I can't really talk.
"I think we should go home. Ni, I think it'd be best if you stayed with us for a while." says Mikey as he pulls me into a soft embrace. He rests his chin on the top of my head. I wish we could stay like this forever, but I can hear Frank fangirling behind us. He lets me go, smiling at me, then I walk upstairs so I can pack a bag. Lucky for me, I never did unpack my suitcase, so I shove whatever I took out of it into the case and Gerard lifts it down the stairs for me. We all get back into Frank's truck and we go back to Gerard and Mikey's place. We are silent for the entire car ride. Mikey keeps glancing over at me, looking concerned. When we arrive, Gerard and Frank head straight inside. I stop outside for a moment. Mikey puts his hand on my shoulder lightly.
"You sure you're alright?" he asks.
"Yeah, really, I'm fine." I say.
"You're lying." he says sadly. "I can tell."
Then his lips gently brush against mine. My heart races. Holy fuck, that just happened.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that..." he says quietly.
"You don't have to apologize, Mikey." I say. I pause for a moment. "Come on, let's go inside. It's getting pretty cold out here."

We walk into the living room and see Frank and Gerard staring at us and smiling excitedly.
"What?" I ask.
"OH LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW!" shouts Frank.
"YOU AND MIKEY!" yells Gerard.
"What about us?" asks Mikey.
"JUST THEN! OUTSIDE!" Frank screams as he flops face-first onto the ground.
"WE SAW YOU GUYS!" shouts Gerard, before flopping onto the ground next to Frank.
"AAH YOU GUYS ARE SO FUCKING CUTE!" Frank yells into the floorboards.
"Oh, fuck you guys." says Mikey, laughing.
"So, are you guys, like, a couple now?" asks Gerard. Mikey looks at me as if to say 'Well, are we?'
"Um..." I say. "Mikey?"
"Uh, I guess?" says Mikey. I smile. Frank and Gerard go absolutely insane. They really wanted us to get together.

I'm not gonna lie. I wanted us to get together too.
