The Lost Girl
Sunrise
Emma's POV
I came four times before the vibrator wriggled its way out of me. I'd pulled my knees apart, sacrificing flesh for mercy. There were deep welts in my skin there now, but it was worth it, to be relieved of that horrible threat hanging over my head..or at my neck. I welcomed the warm of the sun; it was like a lover, caressing my pale skin with its warm kiss. I felt as if I was going to collapse; but the sharp barbs had already cut into me and I knew they would easily tear out my throat. As the sun bathed me in glorious orange light, I knew I had to run as soon as I could.
Gerard's POV
I was always an early riser. I smiled at the gorgeous girl sprawled beside me. She was as lovely as I'd remembered. I untangled myself from the sheets which had come untucked from our activities, took a robe and a pair of boxers to clothe me, and tiptoed to the kitchen to make a pot of hot coffee. I peeped in to the spare room. To my surprise, only Frank's intricately tattooed body was wrapped in white cotton bedding. I walked through to the music room. Silence greeted me. I started to worry as I found all the bathrooms absent. I didn't want to call Emma, I didn't want to wake my friends. What if she's run away? What if she's been kidnapped? What if she's killed herself? My imagination was running wild with one disastrous scenario after another, but I was quiet in my panic. I couldn't wake them. I tore the cushions off the sofa, even. The mural Frank and I had painted her caught my eye. I loved living on the top floor of the building; the views were absolutely spectacular. Not as good as the roof though.
The roof.
I don't know why I didn't think of it before! My fingers fumbled on the door's lock in my hurry, and I sprinted down the corridor and up the spiral stairs to the flat roof. There, stripped naked, and bound to a post, was Emma.
Emma's POV
I was about to pass out; as if I could feel my eyelids weighted down by my sorrow. I saw a blurred figure on the rooftop. Not Frank, I prayed. Please not Frank. The golden rays of sunlight made angel wings behind the figure who ran towards me. I burst out into exhausted, relieved tears as I saw it was Gerard.
'Shh. I'm gonna get you out of here. Shh Em.' He unwound the sharp wire and threw it off the edge of the building. I let my lungs properly fill with oxygen, my shoulders finally slumped, as he undid the other bonds. His fingers were so warm it felt as if they were burning my ice cold skin; he hastily wrapped his robe around me as I collapsed onto the concrete floor.

When light started to penetrate the blackness again, my head was resting in Gerard's lap. Another hazy figure towered above me. Lindsey. I remembered, then. I remembered everything. I had to go. I tried to get up, but I couldn't control my legs.
'Hey, hey. Easy there tiger.' He was speaking to me as if I was a child in a soothing voice. 'I'll carry you.' He picked me up in his strong arms and I cried into his chest. Lindsey followed, and they tucked me between warm sheets. I began to regain feeling in my fingers, and I realized they were wound in Gerard's.
'Who did this?' His voice shook. He must have shed a tear or two without me noticing.
'I said, who did this to you?' He was starting to get angry now. I looked at him, one wide eyed look. It was all he needed. His own hazel eyes widened in both shock and realization. I saw Lindsey attempt to hold him back and him throw her off, ripping the door right off its hinges as he stormed out. Then the blackness consumed my eyes again and I fell into a dreamless sleep.
