Chapter 1

***Michelle's pov***

“Michelle, seriously, what's the matter with you? We've been here for only two days and you have done nothing else but complaining and sitting in your room!” My mom shouted. I let out a sigh. “You know I currently hate you right? For making me move here.” That seemed to hurt her a bit. “You know why I wanted to move to New Jersey.” she said quietly. “It doesn't make any fucking sense though, I actually had friends. And it wasn't easy to get them.” I was getting angry right now. It really was difficult. “You'll make new friends.” I rolled my eyes. “Fuck this.” My mom obviously didn't appreciate my anger. “Michelle, go walk outside for a bit or something. Come back when you think you can behave yourself.” “Whatever.” I said calmly.

I put on my black converse, grabbed a black leather jacket and slammed the door behind me.

Okay ofcourse I knew why we had to move. My dad past away two years ago and mom had gotten to the point where she couldn't stand living in the same town where she had spent so many years with my dad. She felt like she had to move on. But for me, it just really sucked. I mean, I only have to go to school for 1 year and then I'm done with school so why couldn't I finish that last year at my old school. Living with my mom has been difficult lately. After my dad died, there had been so many days where she wouldn't do anything but crying and drinking. A lot. And being an only child, I was the only one who could take care of her. Nobody took care of me, I just had to made sure I was okay myself. That's why it's so annoying when she is suddenly being a strict mother. Moving to New Jersey better help her move on, because I'm tired of taking care of a drunk mom everyday.

I didn't really mind being outside though. It really did help me relax. The weather was nice, except for the wind that kept blowing my hair backwards. I got a cigaret out of my pocket and lit it on. My mom would kill me if she knew I smoke. I started when dad died, a lame excuse for still doing it 2 years later. I don't really care though. It's nice.

God how long have I been walking this road. I can't walk much further, it's getting dark, I won't find my way back if I keep walking. I decided to sit down at a bench. The streets were pretty much empty. I put in my earphones and started listening to some music. I dreamt away a little bit, music had always been my favourite thing in life.

*** Frank's pov ***

I woke up full of energy. I haven't done anything today except for playing stupid video games and sleeping. I better go outside and do something. I can go to Gerard and Mikey, two of my best friends. Yeah, let's just do that.

I walked to the bathroom and spat some water in my face. That's better. I looked in the mirror that hung on the wall in front of me. My black hair was getting pretty long. I don't really care though. I was wearing a Misfits T-shirt and a black pair of jeans today. I walked downstairs, put on my black converse and a black hoodie. “Mom?” “Yeah?” she answered. “I'm going to Gerard and Mikey's!” She said goodbye and I closed the door behind me.

What a wonderful evening it was outside. Why have I been sitting in my room all day. It wasn't cold but I liked that there was some wind. I was making my way to Gerard's house when I saw a girl sitting alone on a bench. I had never seen her before. She looked kinda cool. She had black, no wait, really dark brown hair, she was wearing a black leather jacket, a pair of blue jeans and black converse. The same as I was wearing. I decided to go talk to her. I was bored anyways.

“Hey.” I said. She jumped up, I scared the hell out of her, she probably didn't even hear me coming. I now saw that she was listening to music. I started laughing because it actually looked pretty funny. “What do you want?” she asked. Nothing, I just wanted to see why a girl was sitting alone on a bench. Have I seen you before?” She looked at me for a while before answering. She looked pretty. “Nope, just moved her.” “I'm Frank, what's your name?” “Michelle.” “Well Michelle, you're not really cheerful.” “If I was, why would I go sit on a bench outside.” She said saracsticly. “Right. What are you listening to?” “Music.” “Come on, be nice to me. I'm cool and since you just moved here, shouldn't you try to make friends?” “Sorry, I'm not in the mood for making friends with strangers today okay? I don't know why you even came up to me anyway.” And with that she put out her cigarette and walked away.

I shook my head and chuckled. I guess I'll never understand girls.
