Picking up the Pieces

After a few more minutes, I fell asleep too. While dreaming in his bed, I pictured the two us in a garden. I was wearing a white dress and matching cork heels. Gerard was wearing a pristine black suit and tie. We were sitting in a gazebo and having high tea. We were delicately consuming fruit tarts and pastries while looking out at various flowers. A few hours I felt a shifting. After a few hours, I woke up, only to see that Gerard wasn't there. I looked over to the nightstand and saw a note. It read:

Went to Frank's house to get your stuff. I promise I'll be back soon.

Well, I guess he's gone. For now. As I lie naked in his bed, I attempt to recall what we had done just a few short hours ago. I remember how tender he was when he placed himself inside of me. I recalled the sweet and salty symphony that were his lips. Not being with him after the moment we just shared was disenchanting I wanted him back. I didn't want to be accompanied by just his body, but his spirit, too. He is amazing and currently he isn't here. He's at Frank's house, putting himself in danger, just to get an old bag with a dusty quilt, used hairbrush, and old gold ring inside of it. I had possessions, but none of any real value. The only true possession I had was not of rings or brushes, but of a person, Gerard himself. With a lack of his presence, lays a lack of sanity in my mind. What am I without him? An empty shell at most. I didn't want him to come back and see me looking weak and tiny in his bed.

I sat up and looked around. Our clothes were sprinkled throughout the wooden floor. He was probably going to come back soon and I couldn't be seen like this. I got out of his bed and went into his bathroom. I looked around and went inside of the shower and turned it on. I didn't really wash, I just sat there in the hot water.

I heard the door open and Gerard walk inside. "I'm back!" he announced.

Oh no, this is bad. He's gonna see me! What do I do? The water was still running. I turned it off.

"Sadie, you in here?" he said as he looked around his bedroom.
''Are you in the shower?" he asked. I heard his footsteps come closer to the bathroom door. He knocked on it. "Sadie,you okay?" he asked.

"I'm fine." I said, scared.

"I don't wanna ruin your moment here but, there's no towels in there." he said with a giggle.

What?!

I yanked the shower curtain out of my way to see if he was right.

He was.

"I have one over here, but you have to come out and see me if you want it." he said with a playful giggle.

What?! Did he actually just say that?! No! Why?

I don't understand.

Why can't he just hand me the towel through the door?

I stepped out of the shower and reached to the door.

"Come out, it's okay." he said.

While still dripping, I came out. I opened the door completely and saw him. My jaw dropped completely when I saw him and what he was wearing and what was in his hands. He was wearing a fancy tuxedo, and holding a fancy dress for me in his hands.

"That's better." he said.

He put the dress down and handed me a towel. Finally.

"Good morning, angel" he said.

"Hello" I said to him. I covered myself quickly.

"You don't need to hide from me." he said sweetly.

"Why are you dressed so nicely?" I asked him.

" 'Cause I wanna take you out. There's some things I need to tell you about. I got you this dress and these shoes after I left Frank's and your stuff is in the living room." he said.

"Is everything okay? Also, I was thinking, maybe today I could get a job?"

"Ok okay, come on and get dressed. We have a big day ahead of us"
