Picking up the Pieces

"What do you mean, Gerard?" I asked him. Gerard dove into his bathroom and stated going through his medicine cabinet above his sink vanity. " I mean this can end badly, unprotected sex is not a good idea" I could barely see what he was doing , but I knew he was shuffling through the cabinet like crazy."Found it!" he announced. He walked back over to me. Ahh, I see, he was just holding up a condom. "Well, never done this before." he said. "Do you know how to put one of these things on?" he asked. I sort of knew how those work, I could manage putting one of them on him. One night, some older girls at the orphanage snuck out of the building and some of those for themselves. I remember how they used them and how they practiced on bananas that they stole from the kitchen. They made me keep watch for the guards, like Mr.Parker. In return, they showed me how to put one the stolen banana. That was years ago, when I was 13, but I still think I could remember the simple steps.
1.) Gently unwrap the condom
2.) Place on the tip
3.) Slowly unravel until you reach the base

"Yeah, I can do it." I told Gerard. His face blushed up. He turned away and went back into his bathroom. "Is everything okay?" I asked him. "Um yeah, it's just, well, I've been practicing for this since I was fourteen. But, I never thought it would actually happen. I'll be out in a sec." he said, excited. It was only a few seconds before he came back out in his boxers. "Are you ready?" he asked me. "Mmmhmm" I said to him. He slowly walked up to me and sweetly wrapped his shaky arms around my waist and hugged me. He stepped back and and tugged the rest of the fabric down and my dress fell to the floor completely in one swift motion. Gerard gasped as he saw my body. "Oh my god, Sadie. Your cut!" I looked down at my thigh and saw the scar. It was 9 inches long. I instantly sighed and hugged Gerard's unclothed waist. "Why did he do this to me?" "I'm sorry, Sadie." "I'm sorry to disappoint you but can we just-" "-cuddle? Of course. C'mon, let's go." he said. He slowly reached for my hand and guided me to his bed. "Sadie, I'm sorry about all this shit." he said to me He dropped my hand ran to his closet. "Here, take this." he walked over to me with one of his sheer pajama shirts. He put the shirt on me and carried me back to his bed. He laid me down. After he spread the covers out, he climbed inside.
"May I crawl into your arms?" I asked him. "Of course, get over here, angel." I reached for his bare waist and held on. Gerard wrapped his arms around my head and neck. His neck crept down and he kissed my forehead.

"Sadie, you're safer here. Will you please stay with me?"
