Killing Them Softly- COMPLETED

Chapter Twenty Five

"Emily.....I want you to do something for me."

"What?" She was crying and Gerard hated seeing her cry.

"Kill me."

Emily walked into the room and knelt down beside Gerard. "I can't and I won't. Gee, that wasn't you. You still love me and I love you." Gerard brushed Emily's bruised cheek gently.

"Give me the gun Emily, then I want you to head upstairs and never look back. Try to live a life that you deserve, the life I wish I could have given you." Emily couldn't understand why she still felt something for him, even after everything. Perhaps it was that he hadn't hurt her until today or maybe that he was the father of the babies.

"Come with me, we can get you help. Like you said we can still try to have a normal life."

"There's nothing normal about this, Emily you have to go without me. It's the only way those babies and you can be happy. Now go." She put the gun in his hand. Emily connected her lips with Gerard's, her hand going behind his neck. The kiss was passionate and sad, it was their goodbye.

Emily stood up and headed for the stairs, she moved slowly hoping she would hear Gerard behind her. Instead as she reached the fourth step, she heard a gun shot.

BAM

Her heart started to hurt, as she closed her eyes Emily took those moments to remember. She thought about when she first saw Gerard when she woke up in the bed. Their first time together, how gentle and passionate he was to her. How happy they were finding out they were going to be parents. Also knowing they were having a boy and girl and the name picking.

"Emily?" She looked up to see James, Frank and Jade standing at the door waiting.

"I'm coming." They headed out the front door, leaving the nightmare behind. "Goodbye Gee." Emily whispered before getting into the car with the others and they drove away.

~*~Five Years Later~*~

Emily was putting away the groceries in the car. The kids laughing in their seats, she smiled at their giggles. The boy looked like her with dark blonde hair and blue eyes. However, the girl looked like him. She had his dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. Suddenly a toy superhero flew at her, "mommy he's come to help save the day!"

Emily got distracted as she was handing the superhero back to her son. She didn't notice her cart edging away from her. When she turned back it was being brought back to her by a nice gentleman. He had dark brown eyes and medium length red hair.

"Oh my gosh thank you so much. I hope it didn't hit your car or anything."

"Not at all, I saw it getting away from you and decided to try and catch it. I can see you have your hands full."

"Yes, those two can be quite the handful."

"I'm Garry, by the way." He put his hand out to shake, she accepted it.

"Emily."

"Are they twins?"

"Yeah, today is their birthday actually. Five years old, my son is older by three minutes. They've become my life now, but I wouldn't change a thing."

"Well I hope you all enjoy the wonderful day and a Happy Birthday to your beautiful children." She smiled and watched him walk away, she thought to herself that he looked familiar but couldn't place it.

"Mommy we want cake!" Both her kids yelled out. Emily quickly put away the rest of the groceries and drove home.

The kids were playing, the cake baking and Emily was reading. It was a dramatic love story called The Personal Assistant, it was thrilling and Emily couldn't put the book down. Just as the main character Shiloh, was about to go home after a birthday dinner with her boss, someone knocked on the door.

It was a postal delivery man, "package for Emily."

"That's me."

"Sign right here for it, please." She signed the form and was handed a good size package. Emily placed it in the living room and went to grab scissors to cut the tape off. There was a note on the front that said 'Happy 5th Birthday' which means it's for the twins.

"Guys come here, there's a package for you two." They came running in with eager faces. Emily got the packaged open to reveal presents, five for each child. They twins opened them at the same time until all had been opened.

Emily saw her daughter had gotten a lock and key necklace, a porcelain doll, a crafts kit box, a pink t-shirt and finally a drawing of her sitting in the park swinging. Her son had gotten a plush snowman, a blue t-shirt, tool play set, action figure and he also got a drawing of himself at the park going down a slide.

Emily wondered how the person was able to draw them without knowing and who sent the package. The twins ran off with their new gifts, leaving their mother with the wrapping paper and boxes. As Emily cleaned she noticed a note in the box she hadn't before.

'Dearest Emily,
I can't believe it's been five years, you still look as beautiful as the first day I saw you. Truly I hope the twins love their gifts, and please do not be alarmed at the drawings. I've been watching the three of you since the beginning. Watching them grow up from a distance has been hard but today I got to see closer.

Our son looks just like you and our daughter like me. You didn't even recognize me, was it the red hair? However I saw your eyes, you felt something was familiar about me. You've done an amazing job raising our babies, I miss you everyday of my life. Please tell them that their dad loves them and I love you Emily.

Never Forget Me,
Gee'

Gerard was the man at the store, he sent the package with the gifts. He's been keeping an eye on his family for five years now. He thought it best if Emily thought he was dead, but he couldn't stand being away. That night he pulled the trigger but not at himself, he couldn't leave like that. Emily traced her hand on her jean covered thigh where a faint 'G' still lies.

Emily smiled to herself, knowing Gerard wasn't dead made her happy. The phone then started ringing, it was probably Frank. After they escaped she lost track with James, he didn't think she should keep the babies. However, Frank had stayed connected with her. She even met a new friend named Xantia, so things were normal for her and she was happy.

The timer went off signaling the cake was done. Emily let it cool, then frosted and decorated it for the twins. Once it was done she called them in for cake and ice cream.

"Mommy who gave us those gifts?

"They're from your daddy, he sent them." That started a question war that Emily wasn't ready for. She distracted them with the sweet treats and sang the Happy Birthday song.

"I love you both so much and your daddy loves you too. Happy Birthday." She kissed their foreheads and smiled as they ate. Emily was happy and normal. She had a great life with Gerard and hers creations together.

Happy Birthday Julian and Maya.

The End.

Hahahahaha of course you laughed, you're just as sick and twisted as I am. I thought you would like how i put Xan in there, how Emily is close with both her and Frank now. Yay you liked the twins names!!! I love the boy name Julian and Maya is based off my favorite game Fatal Frame 2.
