Killing Them Softly- COMPLETED

Since the beginning it's always been me and my little sister Kaitlyn, Kay for short. "Gee I'm starting to get cold, hurry up." Ever since our parents passed away I've taken care of her. She's twenty-three and I'm twenty-eight, we have always been close siblings. "Gee!"

Her voice snapped me back to the situation at hand. Snow had started to fall, we had to hurry. I took a look at the girl lying in front of me, knocked out cold from the accident. I pushed her hair out of her face, so precious. Her scent was wrapping around my nostrils.

"Gee get her in the car already, I'm freezing." Kay didn't care for the cold, I lifted up our newest member of the family and put her in the backseat of my car. She started to stir and in a weak voice, "where am I?"

I brushed her face softly, "what's your name?" Her eyes lifted slightly, "Luci." With that she passed out again. Kay got in the passenger seat, I shut the door and got in the driver's side. "I'll come back for the car in the morning." Kay started humming her made up song she always sings and we started for home.

---------~ONE MONTH LATER~---------

James, Tabi and Emily were on their way to New York. They were going to celebrate Christmas and New Year's there this year. Emily sat in the backseat feeling very anxious. James was driving with one hand one the wheel and the other holding Tabi's.

"Can you believe it guys? We're finally going to New York!" James looked at Emily through the rear view mirror and could see she was basically bouncing up and down. He smiled then turned to see Tabi, she had a big grin and was staring out the window.

He squeezed her had tighter, she looked and giggled. "Emmy I'm so excited! Thank you for coming with James and I." Emily leaned forward so her head was between the two. "No problem, I always wanted to visit New York. I just hope I'm not a third wheel here."

"Of course not Emmy, I love having you with me." The snow was falling down hard and fast. "James please be careful it's really coming down." James let go of her hand and placed it on the wheel.

Emily sat back and put her belt back on, "James you might want to slow down."

James huffed, "Em I think I know what..." A loud bang startled the group, the car started to swerve on the icy road.

Tabi screamed out, "James!" James tried his best to keep the car straight but it was no use. He lost control, the car went spinning and ended up hitting a tree. Everything was still and quiet for awhile.

James moved, "Tabi are you okay?"

As she pushed the airbag out of her way she replied, "I think so. It doesn't feel like anything's broken."

"Em are you okay?" Emily was silent, James turned his head as far as he could and saw a glimpse of Emily. She was lying against the window, it was shattered and blood covered it. "Em? Em!" Tabi started to cry, worrying about her.

A loud knock came, "Hello? Do you guys need help?"

James shouted, "please help! We lost control of the car, hit this tree and our friend is unresponsive."

"Okay stay calm!" They tried to open the driver door but it was stuck and the passenger side doors were against the tree. Next they tried to open the backseat door, it opened. James turned to see a head appear, it was covered by a black ski mask.

The man checked on Emily, "looks like she hit her head hard but she's still breathing. I'm going to take her with me and help her. My sister will come for you and tow you back to our house. Okay?"

James looked at Tabi who nodded that it was a good idea. "Yes please help her." The man lifted Emily out of the car and placed her gently on his car. He didn't stop to look at her, he had to get back and tell Kay there were two others.

Where was Gee? He's been gone too long, I worry about him. Finally I hear his car pull up, I ran outside bundled up in heavy layers. "Gee you're back!" I rushed to him, wanting to give him a hug but he shrugged me off.

He opened the backseat and lifted a girl out. "Is she it? Just her?" Gee walked past me holding the girl tight.

"No, Kay there's two others still awake. Tow their car here and then you know what to do." He entered the house and shut the door. Fine I thought, I must do what big brother says. I get in the truck and head out to the spot. Why was it so cold?

It was easy to find them, hit the tree hard. I got out and hooked the car up to the truck. First I knocked on the window and waved, then I got back in the truck and drove home. When we got there I released the car, I found the tool I needed to pry open the door.

Once it was open I was able to see the two. A young guy and girl, "Hi! Come on in and warm yourselves." They both got out and we entered the house. I offered to take their coats, then I made them sit by the fire and made hot chocolate. "It's cold out there, isn't it?"

The guy talked first, "thanks for everything you and your brother have done. How's our friend? Is she okay?"

This is the first time I could properly see them. The boy had curly brown hair and brown eyes. The girl had medium dark hair and glasses. "Your friend is fine, my big brother is taking good care of her. My name is Kaitlyn but you can call me Kay."

The boy offered his hand, "nice to meet you. My name is James and this is my girlfriend Tabi." I shook his hand, I giggled to myself because I liked him. We heard footsteps coming downstairs, it was Gee.

"Hi there, so you've met my little sis Kay. Your friend is doing fine, she's still asleep but I'm helping her."

"Look I don't mean to be rude but I want to see her. Make sure she's okay. I would also like to use your phone to call someone for help."

I noticed Gee poke at the fire, I knew he was getting mad because I could see his grip tighten on the poker. "Well you'll be able to see her in the morning, she's resting now. As for the phone, we don't have service. Best we can do is drive you out to town in the morning."

James was about to say something back when Tabi grabbed his arm and stood up. "That'll be fine thank you uhhh."

"Oh my apologies. I'm Gerard but you can call me Gee. Kay will show you will you'll be sleeping tonight." He left the room and headed back upstairs. I showed James and Tabi their room for the night. "Sleep well you two."

I waited several hours before Gee finally came back down. "Where've you been? They've been asleep for hours now and I want to get started and play." Gee smiled sweetly, "alright lets get started."
