A New Chapter

Gerard’s Point of View

***Warning! This chapter will contain smut! I will place page breaks and asterisks before the content so those of you who wish to skip, may.***

One week. That’s all I had before it was time for Lizzie to start school upstate in Syracuse. In reality, it was my last night in Jersey. Her car was packed with the necessities for dorm and school life. Cold goodbyes had been exchanged with her parents. Her brothers, Richard and Roman, wished her good luck, playfully ruffling her hair before she left. Little did I know, she wasn’t gone yet.

I was sitting on my couch, reading my comics and drinking coffee. Mikey was upstairs playing his video games, and Mom was in the kitchen cooking when the doorbell rang.

“Gerard? Can you see who’s at the door? I can’t leave this pasta, it’s about to boil over!” I heard Mom call throughout the house.

“Sure thing Mom,” I called back. I shuffled over and slowly swung the door open, revealing Lizzie standing there.

Honestly, neither of us have spoken about her prom night. I remember every vivid detail, never failing to think about it. Part of me wishes she had heard my confession...

“Lizzie?” I said softly, letting my comic float to the floor, mug forgotten on a china cabinet.

“Hey,” she said sheepishly, offering a small wave.

“I thought you already left for New York?” I asked incredulously, scooping her into to an embrace, twirling her in a circle. “What are you doing here?”

Before she could answer, Mom’s voice rang throughout the house once more. “Gerard who’s at the door?”

I opened my mouth to answer, but Lizzie held a finger up, silencing me. “Hi Donna!” she called, waiting for a reply.

The quick clicking of kitten heels came across the hardwood floors. A head of large blonde hair popped around the corner, bringing a heavily painted face along with it. “Eliza? Is that you? It is!!!” Before Lizzie could resist, Mom had her in a vice grip, hugging her wildly, peppering herface with mother-like kisses.

“What are you doing here?” she asked, sounding just like me.

“I just couldn’t leave without seeing my favourite people one last time!” she laughed as I gathered her into yet another hug.

“Do you want to stay for dinner?” Mom asked, making her way back to the kitchen. “I’m making spaghetti!”

“Actually, I was wondering if I could crash here for the night?”

“Of course! I’ll get Mikey to set up the couch for you.”

“Thanks, Donna!”

Dinner was pleasant. Mom kept asking Lizzie question about Syracuse, her classes, and what else she had planned. Mikey gushed about his new video game and how he just scored a job at Barnes and Noble. I stayed fairly quiet, occasionally smiling at someone’s comment, rarely making my own.

Now, I had cocooned myself in blankets on my bed, just staring at the television. Sleep wasn’t coming easily tonight. I wondered if it was coming as easily to someone else.

I heard someone creeping down the hallway, being sure not to wake anyone in the house, making their way to my bedroom door. They let out a sigh and made their way to me.

“You couldn’t sleep either, huh?” Lizzie asked, plopping down beside him on the bed.

“Nope,” I smiled sweetly. “Nervous?”

“Terrified,” she admitted. My only response was to pull her closing me. She instantly relaxed at my touch.

Minutes passed before either of us spoke up. “You know, you don’t have to go to Syracuse. You could stay right here with me, forever,” I mumbled into her hair. My voice was strained, causing tears to threaten to spill from both our eyes.

“Gee, you know if I could, I would. But let’s face it. We both have futures ahead that we need to pursue. I don’t want to be a hinderance.”

“You know that’s not true. I’m always happy when I’m with you, Lizzie.”

She tilted her head up to gaze into my eyes, which were rimmed with red as hers were. “Gee?”

“Yes Sweetie?”

“I love you,” she confided. A smile instantly grew on my face as I brushed a piece of hair from her face. I knew she meant it, and that made my heart swell with happiness.

“I love you too,” I whispered, before planting a sweet kiss on her forehead, and then her lips.

We sat there, just enjoying each other’s company, when Lizzie started to bite her lip. “You know… I’m sober right now,” she joked, but I knew what she was insinuating.

“Oh really?”

“Yeah, and if I remember correctly, we have some unfinished business,” Lizzie purred, her breath hot on my ear.

“We do, don’t we?” This time I made the first move, pulling her flush against me. When my lips met hers, it was pure bliss. These kisses were filled with passion, love, and longing, not just lust.

****SMUT WARNING****

I felt her tongue swipe across my lower lip, and I easily let her gain access. They danced together symbiotically, playing together. Deciding this wasn’t enough, I moved toward her ear, lightly nibbling. Her fingers tangled in my hair, urging me forward. I moved toward her collarbone, my tongue ghosting along her skin, causing shivers the run through her body. Lizzie’s gasp when I bit softly on her collarbone, transformed into a moan the more I sucked and prodded. I leaned back to admire the mark on her skin that was slowly becoming more vibrant.

My hands played with the hem of her shirt, which she happily helped me remove. My own followed soon after. Lizzie was quite a sight to behold, her entire being just radiating perfection. She twisted beneath me as I took one breast into my mouth, tracing the tender points with my tongue. Her moans were now growls, fueling the instinct that was driving us both.

I trailed kisses down her torso, causing her to whine and squirm even more. My lips reconnect with hers as I snake my hand past the waistband of her shorts. As I massage her through her underwear, she breaks away to let out whimpers, which send me reeling.

“Gerard… Please…” Lizzie manages to gasp, eyes pleading with me to get the show on the road.

I smirk against her jawline, removing her remaining clothing in one clean swoop, followed by shimmying out of my own. I reach in my nightstand and quickly pull on some protection before presenting myself at her entrance. She nodded, giving me permission. Slowly, I positioned myself inside of her, relishing every constriction and moan. Rocking my hips, I plunged in and out of Lizzie, our bodies moving in perfect synchronization. My pace quickened as her moans became low screams, waves of pleasure overcoming both of us. Her nails dug into my back and arms, leaving marks as she raked them across my skin. She increased in volume as her orgasm grew greater, giving one final howl that I'm sure woke the house. I couldn't care less, because her last constriction sent me overboard as well.

I collapsed next to her, both satisfied with the other's performance. We both laid there, trying to recollect our breaths and our minds.

"That was amazing," I heard Lizzie say between pants. I could only nod in response.

****NO MORE SMUT***

I felt her body curl up to mine as sleep started to take us into its grasp.

"I love you so much, Gee. I wish I didn't have to leave."

"Me too Lizzie, me too." Soft snores coming from Lizzie told me she was already gone.

I awoke in the morning to find the other side of my bed empty. Looking around, I saw Lizzie pulling on her pajama pants.

“Well, isn’t that a sight I could get used to,” I smirked, rolling out of bed and pulling my own sleepwear back on.

Lizzie gave me a sad smile before speaking. “We better head upstairs, they’re probably getting suspicious.”

Following her lead, we meandered into the kitchen, where Mikey was already seated at the table, a plate of waffles sat in front of him. He eyed us as we took our seats across from him. Lizzie rested her head on my shoulder, and my thumb rubbed circles on her thigh. Mikey’s eyes flickered between the visible mark on Lizzie’s collarbone, to the red scratches that lined my arms. Realization set into his features, mouth opening to make a comment. I shot him a ‘shut the fuck up’ looked and he turned his attention back to his breakfast.

It wasn’t before long that Mom had set plates in front of us with a sad smile. We just mumbled our thanks and ate in silence.

Lizzie had just double checked to make sure everything was in place for the long ride to Syracuse. With a sigh, she closed the trunk of her car and turned to the rest of us, tears already spilling down her cheeks.

My mother was the first to say goodbye. She blubbered things like 'You're like the daughter I never had', 'I'm so glad the boys met you', 'I've never seen Mikey or Gee so happy.' Lizzie kindly returned her sentiments before my mother grabbed her in a bone-crushing hug, telling her to not hesitate if she needed anything. Mom then excused herself back into the house, saying her makeup was running and the neighbors couldn't see her like this.

Mikey then approached Lizzie, shifting back and forth awkwardly. It was Lizzie who made the first move, hugging my brother with all of her strength. He was startled at first, but eventually relaxed and wrapped his arms around her. I could clearly see the tears running down both faces when they released each other.

"I, uh, wanted you to have this," Mikey mumbled, holding out his favourite beanie. "Just a little something so you remember the good parts of Jersey."

Lizzie gingerly took the hat and placed it on her head. Doing a little spin, she asked Mikey how she looked. He gave her an approving smile.

"Give 'me hell, Frog Girl," Mikey sniffled as they hugged one last time.

"I'll do my best, Scrawny."

And lastly, it was my turn to face the moment I had been dreading for months. I tried my best to blink back tears as Lizzie slowly made her way to me.

She wasn't slow for long. Halfway to me, she starts sprinting, leaping into my arms. I held on to her like my life depended on it as the momentum spun us a few times. After we stopped, we just stood there holding each other, Lizzie sobbing into my shoulder, and I allowed myself a few tears to fall onto her head.

Sniffling, she released me. "Let me see your hand," she said. I complied, wondering what she would do next. As one hand grasped mine, the other fiddled with the strap of leather she had worn since we met. Tying it around my wrist, Lizzie began to answer my questions. "I want you to have this, so you won't forget about me or all the amazing times we had together. There's my initials, E.M.M. Elizabeth Marie Miles. I hope this lets you keep all of those memories fresh in your mind. Like, when we first met, when you took me to my first concert, when you helped with all the shit I was going through, when you made me feel complete..." she rambled, each new phrase triggering a memory in my mind.

"Do you really think I would ever forget about you?" I asked, wiping the tears from her face, even if it was a futile effort. "I want you to have this," I mimicked her, pulling my class ring off. She placed it on her thumb, seeing as it was the only finger close to fitting.

"You know, I could stay here. Things would stay the same and everything would be okay. I don't have to go to college..."

"You and I both know that's bullshit, Elizabeth. You are going to be amazing. You're gonna get your degree and become this amazing comic artist that has people fighting over her skills. You're gonna go farther than you ever could staying here with me."

"Don't say that, Gerard."

"But it's true. I love you, Elizabeth Marie Miles, but this chapter of your life is about to close so a greater one can open," I spoke truthfully, as much as it hurt, allowing a tear to roll down my cheek.

"I love you too, Gerard Arthur Way. I just wish this chapter could stay open."

I smiled down at her before pulling her in for one, last kiss. I tried to remember everything about this moment. The way she smelled like vanilla, or how she tasted like strawberries and cigarettes, how her fingers felt on my neck...

When we broke apart, I reluctantly led her to the car, opening up the door. When she started it, I could hear the distinct sound of the mixed CD I made for her her sophomore year. She gave me one last smile before she wiped her tears and drove away, taking the shattered pieces of my heart with her.

I saw Mom and Mikey peeking through the window as I made my way back into the house. They tried to act like they didn't see anything, but I knew too well.

Sitting on the couch, I played with the strap of leather Lizzie left me. I thought I was doing okay, until the reality set in. That's when I broke down completely, strangled cries coming from my throat that couldn't be consoled. I was a wreck.

Notes

That was my first smut ever written! Be honest, was it bad? I have figured out I enjoy writing Gee's POV more than Lizzie's, so you know what to expect. And, honestly, I shed my fair share of tears while writing the last bit. Leave your thoughts and comments below, my darlings! Have a happy new year and a great 2014!
