My Way Home Is Through You

Gerards POV

The world is separated into three parts; Common people, those who find love and those who are simply and inexplicably alone. Common people are the majority of those you see walking around outside, but take a look at the rest, the other two. Both are destined to always only have themselves, never feel true love.

The "Leftovers" are rare, scarce and far between, though heard of, by only a special few. They are frown upon by the Superiors, they are viewed as weak, incompatible. A bad batch.

Then, there's the other halves of these lost souls, wandering in another time zone. Our Superiors give the "Searching Fools" a replacement, a nearly perfect copy of their soulmate, that should've been. Like I said, nearly perfect. There are problems that the replacements have, little quirks that drives the Fools mad, in a bad sort of way.

These pairs of people, the two lost pieces of the puzzle are called "The Seekers". They are eternally in search of love, yet never possess it.

Every detail of The Seekers lives are documented. Everything that has, that is, or has yet to be. Everyone's except for Luna's. Her death is unwritten, it's even a mystery to The Superiors. But, Reggie, my Guide read me a prophecy about a Searching Fool, who, against all odds, seeks out his Leftover and brings her back to him time. In the prophecy, the Leftover's future is undiscovered, and is written once she arrives home with her soulmate, as an aftereffect of the paradox.

Nobody knows who it's about, Fools like me have tried and failed to fulfil it, thinking it was them. No one has a clue. But I do. I hear the whispers in the walls.

It has to be us. It needed to be.

Running a hand through my greasy, black hair I dropped my weight at the table and begun writing to by beautiful Luna. Regg would be able to get it to her, in her time.

Dearly Beloved,

You don't know me, not yet. I'm coming for you, you've waited far too long, my love. I am going to take you home with me. Forgive me if I sound too eager, however, I am. I don't know if you know this, wherever you come from, but we are destined for each other and it is rather forbidden.

Our love is one so powerful, it could bend the heavens, you just don't know it yet. I've heard stories about you. I have a muse here, but now knowing that we share the same stars in our bones and wreckages for hearts, I must seek you out and overlap our lives. I must be with you.

I feel your breath against my face and our heartbeats intertwine now, your thoughts are becoming stronger and more apparent in my mind since I have become aware of your existence. Soon it will be mutual and you will feel no more pain. Our love will blind one another from our grief and we will take down our demons with our affection alone. I'm coming. I swear it, my dear.

Things will be okay, all in good time. Just know that there is someone who will paint your portrait in the clouds and swim through the greatest depths of hell for you.

I finished pouring out my heart briefly, not wanting to scare her off and scribbled my name as elegantly as I could. I added one more thing, to promise our impending assignation one last time.

And Luna, my dear. I'm coming to bring you home.

So, I hope it was alright. I tried to explain the concept of the story here the best I could and I know that I screwed up Gerard's timeline with Lindsey and Bandit but it worked better with the fic.
