Can't Trust a Man in Red

Echo sits in Aleks lap, feeling so happy yet so empty. She hugs him and kisses him, never wanting to sleep ever again. She had a dying need to talk to her sister about what had happened and what she saw in her dream. So, she looks over at Skylarc half asleep in a chair. Not noticing the missing Gerard.

"Alek, I need to talk to Kat. Please, cover for me." And with that she sneaks out the door completely unnoticed.

She walks down the hallway towards her room which she believes holds her sister. She goes quickly to the door and opens it slowly. Looking in, she gets nervous when she sees that Kat is no where to be seen. She backs up and starts to wander the halls, wanting nothing more than to talk to her older sister.

She hears a noise and walks towards it, slowly making out the sound of footsteps. In fact, two sets of footsteps. That's weird.

She rushes forward as silent as possible, then realizes that she was in the main hallway again. She peeks around the corner and looks left to see emptiness. Then looks to the right to see Way and Kat sliding out through the glass and Kat was giggling silently. Once she got throught to meet smiling Way they walked off. Echo runs to the window and looks out and sees them disappear into the trees and brush.

She drops to her knees and cries. She just wanted to talk to her sister, not watch her walk away from her.

Skylarc walks out and stands right behind Echo. "Echo, I can hear you crying from the other side of the school." She chuckles at himself. Then looks back at Alek and nods to him. "Alek is here now." Alek walks to her and picks her up. Echo curls up and hugs Alek, and hides her face in his neck.

"Whats is wrong, love?" He asks calmly and full of concern.

Echo stops crying and thinks hard. If her sister was to leave with a mad man, and didn't have the decency to tell her about it, then why care? Her sister overreacted all the time anyway. She didn't need her when she had her Alek. She leans back and stares Alek in the eyes, "Nothing. Lets go lay down, I'm feeling hungry."
