Can't Trust a Man in Red
Chapter 50
Echo buries herself into Alek, she loved his warmth and feel. He held around her with a smile, feeling the same. He whispers is thoughts out loud, “Wanna maybe go for a walk? We haven’t been out for a little while. Something fun just me and you can do.”
“Okay.” Echo responds with a big smile. She jumps up and runs to get her shoes on and brings Alek his boots.
Soon they make their way out to the streets, holding hands as always. She felt so loved, he actually cared, and wanted to do stuff with her. She couldn’t stop smiling, he was so sweet and thoughtful.
They walked for about a half hour, just looking at all the buildings and telling stories about things they did as kids. Kat told stories about her and Kat with their mom going out to eat, or shopping, or even how she remembered sitting on a certain blue bench while she waited for the bus to come to take them back to their apartments.
“It was great! Kat wouldn’t sit still as we rode the bus back home, since she had never been in an actual vehicle before.” She said laughing.
“Where did you used to live?” Alek asks innocently, just curiously.
“In Gerard’s apartments, we had a room on the second floor.” She smiled up to him.
But, Alek just stared down at her. “Where did you live before that?”
“I don’t think I ever lived anywhere else.” Echo replied planly.
"Hmm…” Alek closed his eyes. “What was your mother’s name?”
“Why does that matter silly?” Echo giggled but soon lost her smile and stared at Alek as he stood in one place with his eyes closed and his hands in fists. She had never seen him angry, and was really worried. “Are you okay?”
“It was Lindsey wasn’t it?”
Echo stared at him in shock, “W-what?”
A loud noise heard behind her made her jump and turn, only to see a red haired male strangling another male in the alley way across the street. The bulky appearance of the red haired male was so intimidating in the shadows of the alley. Soon he turned to look out, and stared directly into Echo’s eyes. Then walks out of the alley like nothing happened, and made his way down the street again.
Echo’s heart racing and she turns to Alek and shakes him, “Tell me what is going on!”
Alek opens his eye and looks down at her, and tries to hug her. She pushes him away and starts to walk away, only to be stopped as Alek begins to speak. “I think… Gerard… is Kat's Father.”
Echo turns back to him and gasps, disbelief in her face. Then she starts to cry, “Why do you think that?”
And so Alek tells her the whole story of how him and his brother had been in a ‘business’ with Gerard, and how Gerard had a wife he killed because she brought home a child that wasn’t his. All the while Echo stared up at him, completely made up of tears. Just as Alek was about to finish, she falls to the ground, motionless. He grabs her and holds her tight, and looks up as he hears someone approaching, it was Gerard. He had a smirk, as he had heard everything that had happened. Alek's face grows red as he feels pure hate for this man, he walks away with limp Echo in his arms.

Echo begins to wake with a sick feeling in her belly, Alek was there holding her tight. He was holding a hand over her belly and smiling, it was kind of weird. "What are you doing?"
He looks at her and smiles more, "Sorry, just feeling our baby kick."
