Can't Trust a Man in Red

Kat looks over at Echo, then they both look up at the school as Alek walks into the light and looks out at them. “Common you two,” he says to them happily, “we need to try to fix this place up a bit.” Echo smiles and rushes up to the schoolhouse and climbs in after Alek. Kat feels a bit left out on this, and doesn’t really feel like cleaning a massive school. She feels far away from who she wants to be with, and just wants to be in his arms.

Backing away from the school, she makes her way to the place she once called home and wants to call home once again. But, on her way she feels a funny feeling, a feeling of being sick all over and really warm. Then finds herself bent over a trashcan, throwing up. Whats happening?

Thinking of possibilities as she walks on, finding no explanation, till a small sliver of thought creeps in. Then runs, runs as fast as she can. She had to tell him now.

She smashes through Ways door and practically tackles him with her excitement. Then feels a rigid sadness as she sees his black eyes and coldness. She backs away and looks him over. His gray face and bloody arms, his dirty clothes, he was a train wreck. His eyes shown brightly as he looked up and realized who was before him, but soon his eyes grew back to darkness as he realizes what he had to do. Kat stood in tears as she stood in front of her broken love.

Kat spoke first. “What have you been doing? What’s wrong love?”

“Kat,” he began, “I need to talk to you.” Way looks down.

“I do too.” Kat looks down too.

“What is on your mind?” Way was concerned, but needed to get his confession out.

Kat looks up at Way with a very serious face. She takes a deep breath and lets out her sliver of thought, “I think I’m pregnant.”
