The Best I Ever Had

He Is Perfect

Frank's pov

The blistering water pattered down on my ivory skin, a white mist buried the white bath room and droplets clung loosely to the white tiles. Carefully I slid out of the shower, pushing in the power button with less care and more force to be sure it turned off. I snatched a fluffy dark blue towel off the silver rack that was wedged between the door and the bath tub / shower. I wrapped the towel around my waist and fled in to my room realising I spent a little longer in the shower than I should've. Pouncing to my draws, I ripped on my black skinnies and my favourite smashing pumpkins top, I understand why for some reason I felt today was going to be a worthy day. It was my favourite top because it shows off all the tattoos on my arms. The once bright tattoos were faded, but my favourite was my very first, on my neck - a scorpion. I got only when I was 16 and it only had 5 legs instead of 6. I closed my white door slightly to grab my brown leather off the coat hanger on the back of the door. I glanced at my digital clock on my bed side table that I'd had since I'd moved in a year ago, the light oak was becoming stained that reminds me I need to replace it. 10:14 it read, crap, I have six minutes to get to work. I flung open my door, and sped out of it almost forgetting to put on my shoes. I yanked on my faded union jack converse, and tied them loosely, I could redo them once I got to work. I nearly tripped out as I hastened down the road. I forced myself through the door, checking the analoge clock on the wall on the opposite side of the shop just visible above the rows upon rows of comics. Thank good 10:19 just on time, it struck 10:20 as I hid myself behind the counter; I waved at Cindy (my boss) who crawled out of practically her haven to check I was on time, she muttered "Frank", nodded then slid back into the store room at the other end of the shop across from the counter. Time fled by, it was nearly the end of my shift and I had managed to survive the hordes of giggling school girls who came to the shop in hope to catch my eye. But boy, they really do try and as attractive as they may be, they were missing one important thing. I was about to call it a day when he walked in. I knew I loved him from the moment He walked in and I knew I'd love him until he'd walk out. I thought it was just another day at work, until he walked in with his perfectness. His messy raven hair, deep brown eyes and a smile that could break hearts. This man put jaguars to shame, he was the most beautiful thing you could ever imagine. The way he'd wander aimlessly searching around the comic shop, he deserved to be in an art gallery side by side with the Mona Lisa. His silky voice would melt butter and the way his petite pixie nose would twitch when he did his award winning smile. He was perfect. I observed him as he strutted around searching, I plucked up the courage to stutter out "W-w- want some help?" To which he just giggled. Oh his sweet giggle, sweeter than honey. Beaming with confidence, he made his way to the counter "Yes actually, you could give me your number." He said through the corner of his mouth, but with a little less confidence than his walk gave of. Heat spread across my face, I was blushing - great. I couldn't just stand their blushing like an idiot so without thinking I blurted out "What makes you think I'm gay?" His cute smile slid into a frown, almost immediately he flung out apologies. "I'm such an idiot, I'm sorry for bothering you." He sighed, he was about to turn as I grabbed his arm. "You didn't bother me, there was no need for those apologies ..." I trailed on without a name to call him. "Gerard. My name's Gerard." He informed me turning around to stare straight into my eyes with his deep brown eyes that were speckled with splinters of gold and green. Just inches between our faces, I broke the silence with "Frank, nice to meet you." Letting go of his tone but not overly muscular arm to hold out a hand for him to shake. He backed away a little to grasp my hand, but never breaking eye contact. We shared a brief smile before Cindy crept out of the store room - wow! Twice in one shift, I'm a lucky boy- "Time to shut up shop frank!" She exclaimed. She stared at our inter twinned hands before she grinned at me; nodded then falling back into her room. I realised why she grinned as I felt the heat on my face once again. Instead of starring back at Gerard I cast my gaze upon the laminated floor. "So that means you're free? Fancy a coffee? On me." He smirked still tightly gripping my hand but tenderly. Out the corner of my eye I could see him admiring the tattoos on my fingers. Peering up from the floor I gazed into his eyes before muttering a single yes without even thinking. Then he did something I didn't expect, he smiled, I mean a genuine toothy smile.
