The Screaming Hope
And when thinking about this solution, you will necessarily know the whole truth.
- Ricken, calm down! There is a good reason why I said we can’t do a thing about what happened!
- Let go of my arm! I say, feeling anger coming upon me. If you really cared you would help me and press charges against them! You’re just like them! You don’t care I’m an orphan now…
- No Ricken, please, I do care, just please, listen to me!
- Acknowledge it, you’re with them, I say, gritting my teeth.
- Ricken Pierce, would you please stop acting like an insolent child and listen to me! Naomi yells.
Whatever, she will avert them of my presence after her speech anyway.
- Let’s go to my place, so we can talk about it calmly and privately, okay?
Whatever.
- First of all, I know you’re not supposed to know and I’m not supposed to acquaint a 10 years old boy about things like that but, I guess I don’t have much choice, owing to the situation.
- Just, I say with impatience, tell me what I should know.
- So, you should know that…you don’t live in a free country, where everyone has equal rights and can do whatever they want. You don’t live in a country where you can express yourself freely or refuse injustices. To sum up, you don’t live in a country that is in the light of progress; you live in a country where the fittest’s law reign, where hunting power is the only horizon. That’s called a dictatorship. The current president came to power by force, and he’s surely not what we call a saint. A community of persons worships him and associates him with God; they are extremists who hate the natives, in here. By the way, the president controls every police unities and courts: that’s why I said it’s useless to report to the police. They are partisans to that. And I’m not by their side, Ricken. I just… don’t want to be killed like your mother was. I’m really, sincerely sorry Ricken.
- But… I’m alone now…, I say, tears threatening to fall in cascades from my eyes, again.
- I’m so, so, so sorry sweetie…, Naomi says in tears, you absolutely didn’t deserve that and I regret so, so much I can’t help you…
She gave up, exploding in tears, realizing the severity of the situation and the loss, I guess.
- I-I will take care of you, okay? She says. You can live with my daughter and I, we live in the house next to yours.
- But what will they do to me if they find me…? I mean, they don’t know I’m witness to what happened, but I’m not useful for them. They can easily kill me and pretend nothing happened, since the president controls everything.
- No, if they find you they will throw you on the streets, not bothering if you’re okay or not, if you know what happened or not. But I will prevent that honey, you will go to my house, and pretend nothing happened. Go to school, I will pay for you and… hopefully they won’t notice a thing…

Notes
I changed some things in the story, and I recommend you to read the whole fourth story again to understand it properly (for example they live in an invented country named Ethrania)Feedback is always appreciated ;)
