Frank’s POV

I closed my eyes, loving the feel of Gerard on top of me and what he was doing to my neck and shoulder. It felt so good, and I was tempted to moan again.

That is, until I heard the slight cough from the doorway.

My eyes flew open and I sat up quickly, nearly knocking Gerard off. I grabbed his arm to keep him steady and turned my head to see my mom standing in the doorway, looking rather shocked. My cheeks immediately flushed a dark red, and I looked down. Gerard had noticed her too by this point and his face clearly showed his embarrassment. He started to get off the bed but I tightened my grip on his arm, pulling him so that he was sitting beside me. Even in the awkward tension in the air I tucked myself into his side, resting my head on what was sort of half his shoulder and half his chest, I was too short to have my head fully on his shoulder.

Everyone just stared at each other for a little bit, and Gerard shifted uncomfortably under my mom’s stare. Finally, I broke the silence with a small “Hey…”

The sound of my voice seemed to snap her out of her trance and she put her hands on her hips, her eyes narrowing into a glare. Uh oh.

“Okay, I knew you both liked each other, but it’s been less than an hour since I left! And Jesus, in a HOSPITAL?! Boys this is not appropriate! You can’t just decide to do something like this, especially you Frank, seeing as you nearly died a short while ago! Gerard, seeing as you were on top I’m not terribly pleased with you either. The only reason I’m not throwing you out is because of how well I know you and your family. If you were anyone else you would’ve been gone by now. Even so, I would’ve expected you to know better! You of all people would’ve been the one I trusted not to rush into this kind of thing!” She yelled at us, rubbing her temple when she was finished, and taking deep breaths to calm herself down. When she had, she looked more tired and annoyed than angry.

“Look, I understand and wholeheartedly encourage you two to be a couple. However, that doesn’t mean I want to see you doing….” She made an awkward hand gesture, trying to indicate the previous scene. “-that.” My mom sighed, glancing at the both of us, I’m pretty sure we both looked ashamed. When she started speaking again she looked rather uncomfortable. “I know, that you are going to do it at some point, and I understand that, but just… can you please hold off a little longer? I don’t want to see this again in this hospital, or at home either. I know you’ll end up doing it eventually, it is a part of life-“ she sighed again, obviously unsure how to say what she wanted. “-But maybe, could you at least try to do it when I’m not around? I don’t really want to walk in on something like that ever again.” She was rubbing her temples again, looking away from us.

I nodded a bit, cuddling closer to Gerard. “Yes mama. We promise.” I said quietly, looking up at Gerard. He hugged me a little and I reached up to kiss his chin.

“Good.” She looked over at us again. “You are allowed to do what you are right now in front of me, and I suppose you may kiss, but nothing farther, do you both understand?”

“Yes.” We both chorused, and I smiled a bit. I was glad she accepted me and Gerard, it made me happy to know she didn’t care it was us two. I could tell she was attempting to not encourage the act but also not discourage it either, because she didn’t want us to think it was bad. I giggled at the thought. Gerard looked at me curiously, but I just shook my head, smiling up at him. He didn’t press, just choosing to smile back at me. After another moment my mom spoke again, this time smiling a bit.

“Who wants coffee?”
