If you save yourself tonight

Hailey's POV

It's the end of the day which means it's time for my date with mikey. I'm really excited but also really nervous.

"Good afternoon miss I-got-a-date-with-mikey." I hear an all too familiar voice say from behind me. I jump slightly and turn around seeing gerard with a smirk on his face.

"What the heck gee?! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?"

"Maybeeee.." he chuckles. "I didn't know you'd be so scared."

"I wasn't scared. You just surprised me."

"Riiiight. Well are you ready to go? Mikey's waiting in the car. I told him that I'd get you. It's hilarious how nervous he is."

"Oh stop it Gerard. You'd be nervous to of you were going on a date with a sexy mofo like me." I laugh.

"Hailey Hailey Hailey. You really need mental help." He laughs along with me.

"Anywaaaays I think I got everything, So we can head off."

"Ok let's go." I slam my locker shut and Gerard and I walk towards the exit.

"Gee, I'm really nervous." I say slightly shaking. "What if something goes wrong? Or I embarrass myself?"

"Hailey just calm down. Nothing is gonna go wrong. Everything will be fine." Gerard says, attempting to hug me while walking.

"What're you doing?"

"What does it look like? I'm trying to hug you."

"Well you're not doing the best at hugging me." I say chuckling.

"Oh shut up." He smirks at me, also chuckling.

We walk out if the school and to Mikey's car which is, thankfully, close by.

"You're sitting in the back by the way."

"Why do I have to be all alone on the back?"

"Cause I always sit in the front."

"Fine." I cross my arms and start to pout.

"Oh stop that." He says sticking his tongue out at me.

"Neverr." I say sticking my tongue out back.

We walk up to the car in a fit of giggles. Mikey looks at us weirdly and then shakes his head, lightly smiling.

Gerard and I burst into another fit of giggles as we get into the car.

"Hey mikes." Gerard says.

"Hey." We start to drive off and I stare out the window. Thnks fr th mmrs by fall out boy starts playing so I end up nodding my head and tapping my feet to the beat.
I start to think to myself about, well, everything. My dream, meeting Gerard, meeting Mikey, mine and Mikey's date, etc.

"Hey mrs. lonely" I look back to the front to see Gerard waving at me.

"Did you just call me mrs. lonely?" I ask giving him a weird look.

"... Nooooo." He smirks.

"You're so mean to me." I say very over dramatically. Gerard just laughs at me.

"Am not! Anyway we're here!!"

I get out if the car and see that we're at, from what I assume, Gerard and Mikey's house. I stare at it rather confused because I thought we were going to get coffee.

Mikey looks back at me and sees my confusion.

"I had to drop Gerard off at home. Sorry." He looks down awkwardly.

"It's fine. Don't worry."

"Okay, well do you wanna come in for a bit?"

"Sure why not?" I smile and walk up to the house with him.
When we get inside I see Gerard already making his own coffee. I shake my head and laugh at him.

"What?" He says confused.

"Oh nothing." I smile at him. He gives me a weird look but brushes it off.

"Anywaayyy hailey why don't you go chill in the living room. I have to talk to Mikey really quick. Just keep going straight and you should find it." Gerard says pointing to a doorway.

"Uhm okay." I walk through said doorway and into the living room. I decide to just sit on the couch and wait for them.

As I'm waiting for them I watch as a lady, who looks to be in her 30's or 40's, walk in.

"Oh hello. I didn't know we were expecting a guest." She says smiling sweetly.

"Sorry , this was kinda unexpected really." I say awkwardly, rubbing the back of my neck.

"You must be Hailey. Mikey's told me so much about you. It's great to finally meet you." She walks over and sits next to me.

"He has?" I ask, blushing.

"You're all he ever talks about. He told me he was gonna ask you out today so that's probably why you're here, am I correct?"

"Yea. In all honesty I'm pretty nervous." I laugh lightly looking down at my beautifully decorated converse.

"I can tell. Don't worry sweetie, he's just as nervous as you, if not, more."

"I'm not surprised. He can be pretty shy." I smile, chuckling.

"Yea, he's very quiet around people he doesn't know." She smiles back.

"I see you've been acquainted with our mother." I turn and see Gerard and Mikey.

"Yep." I say smiling. I watch as Mrs. Way gets up and walks over to Mikey. She whispers something into his ear and he blushes a deep crimson red.

"Well I think it's time you two get a move on." She says. "It was really nice to meet you, Hailey."

"It was nice to meet you too, Mrs. Way." I say standing and walking over to them.

"I guess we should go now." Mikey says.

"I guess so."

"Goodbye Hailey!!" Gerard says hugging me.

"Gerard chill you'll see me tomorrow." I laugh at him and hug back.

"I know but still." I playfully slap his shoulder. He rubs it like it actually hurt but I knew he was just messing with me.

"Bye Mrs. Way. Hopefully we'll see each other again." I say laughing lightly.

"Bye sweetie. Good luck on your date!" I blush lightly, looking back at my converse.

"Bye mom, bye gee. I'll be back later." Mikey says to Mrs. Way and Gerard.

"Bye Mikey!!" They say in unison.

"Come on Hailey." He says chuckling.

I follow him out to the car. When we get there I reach for the handle but Mikey's already there.

"I got it." He says smiling at me, a light blush on his cheeks.

"Thanks." I smile back, blushing as well. I get in and buckle up. Mikey has already closed the door and is at the other side, getting in.

"So.. Where is this coffee shop you told me about earlier?"

"It's off the corner of belle creek park over there." I say pointing in the direction of the park.

"You've been to the park right? Or at least past it?"

"Yea I think I know where that is..." He looks down at his shoes, thinking. Suddenly he snaps his fingers, making me jump slightly. "I know what place you're talking about now. Gee and I went there for coffee once over the summer while we were moving here."

"Ok good. That makes my job so much easier." I say, laughing. He starts the car and backs out of the driveway. I stare out the window and watch all the houses as they pass by.

We soon pull into the parking lot of bigby coffee. Mikey unlocks the doors and I start to unbuckle the seatbelt.

"Stay right there, Ok?" Mikey says to me.

"Ok." I laugh lightly. He's so weird. It's adorable.

He gets out and comes to my side of the car, opening the door for me. I smile up at him and get out.

"Thanks." I say.

"No problem." He says shutting the door.

We walk up to the entrance and Mikey opens the door for me, again. I laugh at how nice he's being.

"I can open doors myself you know?" I ask him.

"I know but I'm just trying to be nice."

"You're so weird." I smile up at him again. He smiles back and we wait in line to get our coffee.

Mikey and I are now sitting on one of the benches at the park across from the coffee shop talking and laughing our heads off. So far our date has gone pretty good. Mikey got a regular coffee with sugar (might I add he put A LOT of sugar in his coffee) and whipped cream while I got a white hot chocolate since I don't really drink coffee.

"so you really don't drink coffee?" Mikey asked for like the 5th time.

"Yes Mikey, for the 5th time, I don't really drink coffee." I tell him laughing lightly.

"I'll get you drinking coffee. Just you wait missy." he chuckles.

"You did not just call me missy."

"And what if I did?"

"You'd be in trouble." I say with a smirk.

"And what would you do? I'm like half a foot taller than you." He laughs at me threat.

"I'll find a weakness and use it against you."

"Mhmm sure you will." He says taking a sip of his coffee. I poke at his side and he spits his coffee out in a fit of giggles.

"Found one." I smirk. He puffs out his cheeks, setting his coffee down.

"Uhm.. I'm just gonna.." He, then, jumps off the bench and sprints off.

"That little.." I sprint after him, a smirk still planted on my face.

"You'll never take me alive!!" He shouts back at me.

"Oh we'll see about that!!" I speed up as much as I can but start to slow down as we round the small patch of forest in the middle of the park.

"I got you now!!" I say as I come around the other side. My smile slowly fades. I don't see Mikey anyway.

"Mikey?" I call out, a small smile playing in my lips. "Hey come on dude, hiding is cheating!" I walk around looking for him.

I start to hear rustling in a nearby bush.

"I got you now." I smirk to myself. I walk over to the bush and see a pair of bright red eyes staring back at me. I freeze. That's not Mikey. That's not even human.

My heart rate starts to pick up as it slowly steps out it the bush. My eyes widen at the sight of it. It some type of black wolf thing. It has sharp fangs and, like I mentioned before, bright red eyes.
I soon get control over my body again and slowly start to back up. As I take steps back it takes steps forward.

I back up faster and faster but I, being the klutz I am, trip over a root of a tree. I hit the ground with a hard thud. I groan and start to sit up. The thing is getting closer every second.

I start to freak out at this point since there's a giant wolf thing coming for me. It bares it's teeth at me, almost in a sort of taunting way.

I soon remember that Mikey is somewhere nearby and I start shouting for help.

"Mikey!!!!" I scream loudly. "Mikey help!!" The thing is nearly 10 feat away from me by now.

"Hailey?! Where are you?!" I hear Mikey yell back.

"Mikey help!! Please!!" I scream louder. The things even closer now! I close my eyes and bury my head in my knees. Tears start to weld up in my eyes. I feel so weak.

"Hailey calm down I'm right here." I open my eyes and see Mikey kneeling down next to me. I look around and the thing isn't anywhere in sight.

".. What? It was right here in front me just second ago I swear!!" It had to be real, I'm not crazy!

"Hailey what are you talking about?" He sounded worried.

"I'm... I'm not crazy... I can't be...." Tears start to fall. I feel Mikey hug me and I cry into his chest, probably ruining his shirt.

"Shhhh Hailey calm down. I got you. I won't let anything hurt you." Mikey says soothingly. He starts to rub my back in an attempt to calm down. I take a deep breathe and start to calm down a little.

"Are you ok now?" he asks.

"I guess..." I do feel a little better. But knowing there's 50/50 chance I might be crazy doesn't really help.

"Ok good. Now do you think you can tell me why you freaked out so badly?" I nod slowly.

"Well when I came around the forest thing I didn't see you. So I thought that you were just hiding nearby..Then I heard rustling in the bush. When I went to check it I saw a pair of bright red eyes looking at me.. I started freaking out so I backed up slowly, trying to get away from whatever it was. But when I backed up it just followed me. I didn't know what to do so I just kept backing up out of fear.. Then I tripped over a tree root and fell fell back.. I looked up and saw the thing getting closer and closer.. I didn't know what to do so I just watched it. Then I remembered that you were probably close by and I called for you and now we're here.." I started to shake slightly, tears slowly falling down my cheeks.

"Oh Hailey.." Mikey hugged me again. I tried not to cry again this time cause I didn't want to mess up his shirt anymore then I already did. "It's ok now.. It's gone now.. I'm here for you.." I hugged him back tightly, scared he would leave. I was so scared.

"Can we go now.. please?" I ask, looking up at Mikey with pleading eyes.

"Of course. Do you wanna go home or do you wanna come back to my house?"

"Your house..."

"Ok.. Let's go then.." He starts to get up but I grab his arm gently.

"Carry me? please?" I give him my best puppy dog look.

"Oh alright." He says smiling a little.

"Yayyy." I start to smile a little too. I just wanted to get away from here. I don't care where. As long as I'm with Mikey I feel safe. Cheesy, I know but whatever. Mikey stands and picks me up bridal style, walking us back to his car.

When we get to his car he sets me down and opens the door for me.

"Thanks.. again." I laugh lightly.

"Anytime." He says smiling. He shuts my door and gets in on the other side. I buckle up and stare out the window. I just want this day to end.
