Fifty Shades of Way

***Gerard’s POV***

I hung up, and stared blankly at my phone. I just quit. I actually quit. My heart was beating fast from anticipation as I kept my eyes locked on the phone in my hand.

“Shit..” I whispered to myself. I placed the phone back on the coffee table, and laid back on the couch, staring at the ceiling. It’s as if a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. All the time I dated Ivy, we had to keep it secret from everyone, even family. Now we’re free. We can finally be a normal couple without any interference. No more worrying about getting caught, no more worries of being judged.

I looked back at the phone lying on the coffee table, and knew what I had to do. It’s been a week without Ivy, and every minute of it has been miserable. It’s about time I get her back.

***Ivy’s POV***

I laid in my car with my head rested against the windowsill. I’ve been sleeping in here for the last four nights since I didn’t have enough money to pay for the hotel, and be able to pay a gas bill for my car. I guess you could say I’m homeless now, there’s really no other way to describe the situation I’m in.

I shivered from the cold morning air, and pulled my blankets even tighter around myself.

Every day I've waited for Gerard to call. It could be about anything, I don’t care. I just want to know that somewhere deep inside, he still cares enough to know how I’m holding up. But he doesn't, and it was stupid of me to ever think he would. I’m probably just some other ex to him by now. Someone he doesn't care about enough to even have a two minute conversation with. He said this was only temporary, but it seems to be lasting a lifetime. One week without a word from him, and I’m ready to drive my car off a cliff.

I grabbed my barley charged phone out of my duffle bag, and dialed his number quicker than I ever have before. I don’t care if he doesn't want to talk, he doesn't have to. But he’s gonna listen to everything I have to say.

“Hey, Ivy I was just about to call yo-” he answered almost immediately

“Remember right before I left, you said you still loved me, and you said that this breakup was just temporary?” I cut him off.

“Yes, what’s your point?”

“Well why haven’t you at least had the courtesy to call me and tell me that was all bullshit? You know, I've been living in my fucking car for almost a week? No, of course you wouldn't know because you never called, not once. “

“Hun, I never meant to not call you, it’s just that I had a lot of things to deal with, okay?”

“Like what? A new girlfriend?” I shouted

“No!”

“Then what?” I demanded. There was a long pause, and my heart raced fast with anticipation.

“I quit my job..”

We both fell silent.

“You what?” I said, finally breaking the silence

“I quit..”

“Why would you do that?”

“Why do you think? I had been living my life on the couch in misery. I couldn’t take another day knowing that there was a void between us, and the only thing stopping us was my job, so I quit.”

“H-How are you going to make a living?”

“I dunno, I’ll figure something out. But first, there’s something very important I need to ask you.”

“Go for it.”

“Will you be mine again?”
