Fifty Shades of Way

I'll Never Let Them Hurt You, I Promise

***Gerard's POV***

I woke up, in my dark room, around 5pm. I immediately shot my head up, and looked around the room for Ivy. Nothing. I sighed, got up, and headed downstairs in hopes of seeing her there. Nope. Not here either. I opened my curtains, and looked out the window, seeing that her car was gone. What's wrong with her? She can at least just tell me where she's going without running off, leaving me to search my house, only to find she's left me. I plopped on the couch, and held my head in my hands. Then again, what am I to expect? I can't just expect her to stay here, and watch me sleep for five hours. Maybe I'm just being unfair. But still, she could have at least left a note saying that she was leaving. But it doesn't matter. I just hope she's not out getting herself in trouble or anything.

I got up off the couch, and made myself a sandwich. I haven't eaten since this morning, so I'm starved. Just before I placed the sandwich in my mouth, my phone buzzed in my back pocket, causing me to jump. I looked at the caller ID, and saw that it was none other than Ivy.

"H-He-"

"Gerard, can I come over, please?" the tone of her voice startled me. It sounded as if she was trying to hold back a shit load of tears.

"Of course. Honey, is everything alright?"

"We'll talk later. Thanks." she quickly hung up without letting me get a word in. I ran a hand through my hair, and sighed, staring at my sandwich. What the hell was that about? I shrugged, and took a bite. I'll find out soon enough.

I heard her car pull in, which was soon followed by quiet knocks at the door. I swung the door open, revealing a tear stained Ivy.

***Ivy's POV***

I kept my head low, as the tears slowly ran down my cheeks. I didn't want him to see me crying this badly. My makeup was running all over my face, and I knew I just look like shit. Gerard quickly wrapped two arms around my body, and held me close. Not saying a word. Thoughts of what just happened kept running through my head, causing me to belt out more painful cries. He held me even closer as I quietly sobbed into his chest. The sobs soon grew louder, as my memories became more vivid. Gerard slowly took a few steps backward, still holding onto me, guiding me to the couch. He sat down, bringing me onto his lap, where I resumed my sobs.

"Whenever you're ready, I'm all ears." he whispered. I gulped, and cleared my throat, before letting a few more tears roll down my drenched cheeks.

"S-She kicked me out!" I screamed, clinging onto his shirt as if my life depended on it.

"Ivy, who kicked you out?" his voice was stern.

"M-M-My m-mom." I cried even louder. "I-I came home from being at the mall with Jackie, and her f-friends, a-a-and I-I found her d-drunk, almost passed out in the living room. She told me she d-didn't want me anymore!" my cries grew from sobs to shrieks. "S-She told me to go live somewhere else. She a-already got rid of all my things, G-Gerard, I have nothing! I have no idea what she did with it all, but s-she said I'm not allowed to live there anymore. I'm fucking homeless!" I shrieked. Gerard was now holding me so close, I could hear every one of his heart beats. He slowly rocked me back, and forth, trying to somehow comfort me.

"I-Ivy, baby, you need to stop crying." he whispered. "I know it's hard, but you're gonna make yourself sick. Your mom was drunk, I'm sure she didn't mean it. People say a lot of bullshit when they're shitfaced. I'm sure she'll regret it in the morning. Ivy, please don't take that too seriously. She probably has no idea what she's saying, and most likely won't remember it in the morning." he lightly stroked my hair. "Everything is going to be okay, darling. I promise."

"You don't understand!" I screamed, pushing him away. "You didn't see the rage in her eyes. Her face was filled with so much hate, it hurts me more than you can ever imagine to even think about her. She's done this before. Never kicked me out, but she's gotten drunk a shitload of times. But this is by far the worst I've ever witnessed. Plus, I told you, she got rid of all my things. My room is pretty much empty. I have absolutely nothing." I whispered

"What about when your mom isn't drunk? Is she still like that?"

"I-I wouldn't really know. I never see her. She's out almost 24/7. She really only comes home late on the weekends. I guess you could say she's an 'okay' mom then. But like I said, I wouldn't really know."

"Your dad?"

"Left us a long time ago. That's why I'm an only child, I guess. He found some other chick that he thought was better for him. So he dumped my mom out of nowhere, and left us with nothing. We get by, though." I looked down, and then up at Gee's face. My eyes widened once I saw he had tears in his eyes. "W-What? Gee, why are you crying?" I put my hand on his cheek, and quickly wiped away a tear with my thumb.

"I-I'm crying for you. Ivy, I never knew you had it so hard. I want nothing but happiness for you, and hearing this breaks my heart." he sniffled. I pulled him in for a long hug, and we just stayed that way. Neither of us having the strength to pull away. "I love you more than you can imagine, Ivy. I really do." he whispered. I slowly pulled away, and stared into his hazel eyes.

"I love you more."

"Hun, I want you to stay with me tonight. If you don't want to share a bed, I'll sleep on the cou-"

"Gerard, we've seen each other's privates." I giggled. "I have no problem sleeping in the same bed as you." I grinned. He pulled me by the waist, and pecked my lips.

"Are you planning on going to school tomorrow?" he asked

"Are you?"

"I told you, I'm going back Monday."

"Well, that's when I'll go back too." I smiled.

"I don't know about that. You'll be missing a lot, and I don't want you to fall behind."

"Please? I have no one there except for you. It'll be hell for me."

"Huh? What about Jackie, and the others?"

"Oh, uhm. Well, let's just say, I kinda ruined that whole friendship.." fuck. I can't have him knowing what they were saying about him.

"What did you do?"

"Nothing. We'll talk about it later, okay?" he gave me a suspicious look, before slowly nodding.

"If you want, tomorrow we can go back to your house, and you can try and settle things with your mother?"

I bit my lip, and stared at the floor in thought. "I-I dunno. I'd rather just live with you forever." I giggled, and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"That would be nice. But if the school found out.." he paused, staring at the floor. "Let's just try and figure things out with your mom, okay?" he said, changing the subject. I sighed, and nodded. "Besides, I-If worse comes to worse, I'll figure something out, okay? But as of tonight, you're here with me." he smiled. I kissed his lips, and leaned my head on his warm chest.

"Thank you, Gee. For everything."
