Life isn't fair

Chapter 2

They begin to wander around. Some in loud boots that make a louder boom on the floor while others tread lightly. One catches my attention as he smiles sweetly to all the others. He greets them like old friends. Patrick is nice and sweet. He has this bouncy nature to him. His smile calms them momentarily until Pete yanks at Patrick's cardigan sleeve begging him to move forward with him. Strange their friendship is so strong yet they have little in common.

Brendon has grabbed onto Frank. They don't have much knowledge on one another, but before long they will soon find they are very similar. Frank hops along next to Brendon with this child like wonder that is almost uplifting. Brendon smiles but he seems more in-tune to the serious nature of this situation. Gerard lingers behind them watching his brother stumble along the wall.

Mikey was taken last night from a small bar a block from his house in Jersey. He has been drinking quite a bit sense the break ups. Strange how alcohol never soothed his pains, but made the cuts deeper for the next night he would drink until the scars are inevitable. His broken physical appearance serves as the perfect metaphor for his broke heart. Gerard hides the pain well from what his brothers alcoholism does to him. Reminding him of his own vices.

Tre clings to Mike as Billie leads the way. They ascend the stairs to the next floor. Adventuring should be their biggest fear for who knows what lies beyond these walls. They as a band cling to normalcy found in one another. They have come so far in their lives. They are of the oldest here, by far some of the wisest yet they are making terrible mistakes. They are running into what could be their death if that was ever what I entailed for them. I don't wish to harm them though. Just show them the error of their ways.

If each relives some of the most traumatic experiences of their lives would that not save them now? No they must learn, grow, and advance to help others. They are not my playthings. They are my method of teaching. I will use them to teach others to help them understand why they should be more careful in the decision they make for their lives.

Spencer finds Jon roaming carelessly as he seems to do in life. Jon has always been very free and open. Spencer has his own turmoils to tango with though. Jon has seen Spencer at some of his worst times. Spencer's own addictions nearly ate him alive. He has been in rehab for months now and only just released by me. He needs to understand that what he does not only influences those around him but his fans as well. They see him as stronger than them and if he can't handle it then what hope must they have? Strange how mere men and woman can be idolized.

Hayley stands alone. She is not afraid thus far. She holds her head held high. She would smile if she felt the need but for now she takes a look at the first door she sees and enters. In through this door of wonder she enters an unknown room. Her eyes widen as she understands something more. She has entered the wrong room though. She sees a black mess of hair lying on the bed. He is on his stomach sobbing into a pillow. He can't stop crying. His tattoos are visible as he shakes. She rushes out wishing she could block out the memories and un-see what is now plaguing her vision.

I feel eyes on my being. I know it is Ryan wondering how the others can be so blind. He whispers for me to hear,
"How dare you! You have no right! We are people, not toys for your amusement!"

I speak to Ryan within his own head,
"Ryan, I am not playing with you. I am teaching you. You must understand why I've brought you here. This is to make you a better person, to enlighten you to your own faults."

Ryan hissed,
"We all have faults we are human."

"Though some are greater than others and effect more than oneself." I give the logical response that he could never think of no matter how open his mind could be.

Ryan sulks on to wander aimlessly with the others, though his mind is always just a little closer than the others to finding out the truth. Ryan is one of the worst ones here. His life has been hardship and everyone knows it. He is always going to use his trials as an excuse for his bad behavior if he never fully finds closure.

Ray has very little interest in this castle. He has wandered many places but never here. Josh and Tyler are beside him. They look to him for some kind of guidance though very little is found as he is as lost as they are.

Each seems to be as lost as the next. Ryan divulges no information though he is much more aware to his surrounding than the others. He has been here... many times before. He has had a terrible life and this is how he has always coped though there is hope that this will be his last time. He should only wish to be more inclined to recover correctly from the trauma he has experienced in the last few years of his life. Ryan still has not learned yet though to not doubt himself as much as he always does.

Gerard has taken it upon himself to steady his drunk brother. They have found their way to a kitchen near the ballroom they began in. He finds water and forces Mikey to drink and rest. He has no hope that they will come out of this alive. This would not be the first time that Gerard has prepared himself for the death. It is the first time though he actually believes Mikey will die right beside him.

Frank has annoyed almost everyone away from him and Brendon who are singing. Brendon's voice does little to fill the stale stagnant air around them. Funny thing is this is the first time he has ever felt true fear. As a child of only three he feared the boogey man, as many do, but as he grew older Brendon came to realize he was the boogey man. He brought fear to children for some reason and if not him than his friends did. When you are young you are afraid of the monsters but as you grow older you find that you have become the monsters you once feared.

Life is just strange to the point where everyone around you is identical and yet you still don't quite fit the mold. I guess no one could say that being normal is for everyone. Some of us are just forced to stand out among the crowd or drown trying not to sink with the normal ship that plagues so many lives. We get exactly what we have never wanted.
