Life isn't fair

How small they look. Lost in this castle of self destruction. They do not stir nor wake at the sounds fluttering across the air. Each has their own life outside of here. Each has their own sanctuary they call home. How easily they have been ripped from it by a benevolent force. Will they be missed? Of course they shall be missed. Mere children in the claws that I posses. I hold their freedom in my strong grasp.

One stirs slightly. He is shocked, I can see by his eyes clawing through the landscape. Bricks hold them in tightly. A small castle is there prison. He is the one known as Gerard. Some refer to him as Gee. He is the reason so many have cried themselves to sleep at night, but also their savior. He has grown strong and in turn so have they. He is an idol. He is like a god to them. His image is immortalized in their vile memories. He rises with such grace it is beautiful. He sees his ex-band mates along side him and the worry is abundant on his face. He sees all his 'friends' laying unconscious around him. Questions must be plaguing his mind. 'How did we get here? Are they alive? Where is my family?' Little does he know it is not his family I care about. I care little for his wife Lin-z and Bandit. They have never been the focus.

Another stirs. He is younger than Gerard. His name is Dallon. Dallon is a mormon who loves his family. He has quite the devotion I can see. He is wondering how he got here as well I'm sure. Strange how little they care about who put them here. I wonder if they will ever notice my measly existence for it fulfills theirs. He looks to see lying next to him is Brendon who looks quite peaceful. He is curled into a ball with his hands underneath his head. Dallon shakes him in desperation. He wants some kind of hope which Brendon some how always exudes. Brendon's eyes open so he is face to face with Dallon's nervous pupils. Brendon seems confused as he screams waking the rest. Others begin to rise with the morning sun coming above the horizon.

Billie glances in all different directions. Pete shakes Patrick muttering questions to him. Ryan's eyes flutter open as he rises with a shake. He begins to cry softly. Ryan knows. Ryan has always known.

Ryan is intelligent. He sees beyond what the others may merely glance over. I fear his sight. As he cries softly Spencer rises next to him and rubs his back making a hushed noise. I wonder what that kind of compassion must feel like. The feeling that even after years of not seeing each other, having no contact they can still be friends who feel strongly connected. Brendon becomes aware of Ryan's presence and also rushes to comfort him. Strange how love never truly dies. They can deny the existence but it is obvious with everything they have done and will ever do. Lying to yourself is sometimes easier than lying to others.

Hayley the only female wakes among the men and she seems lost. She is smart though. She will get it eventually. Next to her though Andrew rises with a soft coughing fit. Joe pats his back lightly. The feelings that must be with in them surprises me. I never imagined that they might find hope among one another. Then again Frank stands.

Frank is not a leader. Frank is nothing more than a child. He sees Gerard and runs to him. He whispers into Gerard's ear,
"Where are we Gee?"

"What a great question Frank. What a great question." I boom across the room to all of them. They all stand now searching for the direction in which my voice is coming from except Ryan who stares at the wall. He knows the truth, though he doubts his own knowledge. Ryan's fatal flaw will torture them all. Strange how one could have all the answers necessary to escape but to fearful of being wrong to utilize them. "You are here in my palace. My sanctuary. To escape you must come to understand why you are here. Look around the room these are your companions for the time being. I hope you enjoy this life changing experience. Remember though children life is not fair." With that I leave the pupils to understand and retain knowledge as to why they are here in the first place.
