***Karie's POV***

I did not like Gerard. Nope. Not the way I rolled. I liked him as a friend, if that. I didn't like him as a boyfriend or anything more. People had to get this through there head. Gerard put me down gently and gave me a warming smile. I looked down and took off my gloves while ignoring his presence. I put the gloves down and jumped over the counter. I grabbed Bryan's hand and led him to the door. We were done here. I felt bad dragging him out of the place that he probably loved. Well, not loved, but he loved the people there. I decided to make it up to him by buying ice cream for the both of us. We walked out of the creepy part of town and I started to head straight for the ice cream shop. We walked a bit and then Bryan would stop.

"What's up Bryan? Why did you stop walking?" I got down to his level. He wouldn't look me in the eye and shuffled his feet. I frowned at his discomfort. I felt bad now. I had taken him out of the place he asked to go because of personal problems.

"I didn't get to thank Gerard. He is the only other person who can make you smile and your smile is beautiful." He started to cry in my shirt. My heart sunk to the bottom of my stomach. I held Bryan in my arms while he cried.

"Sshh. It will be okay." I rubbed his head while he stopped crying. He pulled away and wiped his nose. I gave him a weak smile. He gave one back.

"Want to go out for ice cream or just go home?" I asked him.

"What kind of ice cream?" He tilted his head. I laughed.

"Any kind you like kiddo." I rubbed his head once again. We walked over to the closest ice cream shop and headed in there. I bought some ice cream for both of us.

"What did you get?" Bryan asked me as he ate his chocolate swirl.

"Birthday cake. Wanna try?" I offered him some of my ice cream. He nodded and licked my ice cream. He finished his and mine as well. We decided to go back home and I needed to say sorry to Gerard for leaving so abruptly. We got to my house so I sent Bryan to watch TV and I headed towards the Way's. I knocked on the door to have an instant answer from Mrs. Way. She smiled when she noticed me and called for Gerard. I waited for him to come, which seemed to take a while. He was probably masterbating or something stupid like that. I laughed at my own joke. He nodded at the inside of his house, which I assumed meant come in. I sat on the closest couch and he sat across me.

"I didn't mean to leave so abruptly." I said as fast as I could. He rolled his eyes.

"Are you really sorry Karie?" He crossed his arms. I nodded.

"You are so bipolar. One minute you will be the best person I could hang around and the next you want nothing to do with me. I seriously don't get you. I thought we could get over the high school dilemmas, but obviously some of us are to immature." He sighed at the end of his rant. I didn't realize he wanted to get over the issue. There was no revenge was there? I was just this crazy bitch who hurt him and now he is looking past him. The question is why?

"Why don't you hate me?" I whispered. He raised an eyebrow at me like it was a stupid question. It wasn't though. I was completely serious.

"Because two wrongs don't make a right." He shrugged it off. Bull shit.

"I want the truth Gerard." I looked him straight in the eyes. He didn't avoid eye contact.

"It is the truth. Why do you always run away when someone mentions you having a 'crush' on me?" He put air quotations on 'crush.' I gagged at the thought of crushing on him. At the same time I blushed. He grinned at my blush. Bitch tits.

"I asked first." I stuck my nose up, mostly so he couldn't see me blushing. He stood up and strolled over to me. He put his hand through my hair and kissed my cheek.

"You know, crushes can go both ways." He whispered in my ear.
