When the last bell went off I stood up immediately wanting to get out of here as soon as possible. I stuffed my papers in my bag and pulled out my iPod and took off towards the bus.
"Lex! Wait! Lex! Alexis Jacobs stop!"
That stopped me dead in my tracks I turned around to glare at whoever had used my full name it was Frank, of course. He caught up to me, "Hey where's the fire?"
"I just wanted to go home."
"You should come over we were going to hang out since there's no homework for it being the first day of school." Gerard said.
I looked down at my hands, "Sure I would love to."
"Come on then we're walking."
I smiled following my friends, gosh that felt weird to say; to hang out, alright that was weirder to say. The walk consisted of people calling us 'emo freaks' but I didn't mind people used to call me worse at my old school. Gerard kept sneaking glances at me, and I would just give him a 'what' look, then he would shake his head and just keep doing it, it was getting annoying.
But Frank's jokes made me laugh and feel not as alone for once. We made it to the Way's, which I learned wasn't too far from mine it was like three houses down, in about 15 minutes.
Gerard unlocked the door and we all went in, "My parents aren't home, both are working so make yourselves at home." I slipped off my shoes and put my backpack on the floor but I left my jacket on just like I always do. I texted my sister to let her know I was here, not that my parents would be worried anyways.
All the guys were sitting on the couch and doing what I do at home I sat on the floor, since there's never enough room on the couch and no one would ever move over for me. I could die and no one would actually care in my house, I was lost in my thoughts when Gerard shouted my name.
"Lex!"
"What?"
"You okay? You were staring at the wall for like 5 minutes."
"Yeah I'm alright. Sorry I guess I'm a little tired."
Gerard gave me a look and the others didn't seem to believe me, I just turned back towards whatever they were watching. My phone vibrated and I looked down at the text my sister had sent.
From: Lace
Have fun, be home by dinner though.

I just rolled my eyes, I don't get why they're being so nice to me.
"Lex you can sit up here if you want." Frank said patting the spot next to him and Gerard.
"I don't usually sit on the couch." I said getting up and sitting beside him.
All of them gave me a weird look, it didn't bother me but whatever.
"So guys I was thinking that we could have a sleepover this weekend, Lex you in?" Mikey said.
"Wait you want me to sleepover?"
"If that's alright with your parents, ours don't care."
"I'll have to make sure." I whispered but I knew that it wouldn't matter neither of them would notice I was gone anyways, only Lace and David would notice they always notice.
"Gerard! Mikey! I'm home!" A women called from the front door, "Who's shoes are these?" An Italian women I suspected was Mikey and Gerard's mother walked in, "Oh hi Frank, Bob, Ray, and girl I don't think I know."
"You don't Mrs. Way." I stood up, "I'm Alexis Jacobs I just moved in three doors up."
"Oh I've been meaning to go over to introduce myself but it's nice to meet you Alexis." She pulled me into a hug and I was stunned for a second.
"Mom she likes to be called Lex." Gerard said.
"Well then she shall be called Lex." She smiled warmly at me, making me wish my own mother did that. "Are you staying for dinner?"
"I can't, I actually should get going. My sister said to be home by dinner, it was nice to meet you Mrs. Way. I'll see you guys tomorrow." I waved and went to the front door to slip on my shoes and grab my bag.
I opened the door and shut it softly behind me and started the walk towards my house.
"Well if it isn't the little emo freak, where are you going freak?" I turned around to see Kat the girl my brother had told off earlier.
"She's probably going to cut herself." One of her friends with really fake blonde hair smirked.
I rolled my eyes and kept walking, 'just a little farther' I told myself but one of them grabbed me by my bag and pulled me back.
"Don't fucking ignore me bitch." Kat spit towards me, she threw me on the ground and I just laid there not wanting to fight back. "Oh the little emo is giving up." She cackled, then pulled me back up and smacked me across the cheek, her hand connecting on my face sounded like a whip. I didn't cry out not wanting to give her the satisfaction. "She didn't even flinch girls maybe we should give her something else." She looked at me then punched me right in the eye and pushed me on the ground then kicked me a few times just for good measure. "See you tomorrow emo."
They walked away and I just laid there for a few minutes, then pushed myself up, pulled up my hood, and headed towards my house. I pulled out my keys and unlocked the door, pushing it open I walked in and kept my head down not wanting my sister or brother to make a big deal out of this.
"Alexis? Is that you?" My mom called.
"Yes mom."
"We've been waiting for you so we can eat get in here." She said rudely.
"I'm not feeling that great I think I'm just going to sleep."
"Whatever." My mom said.
I rolled my eyes and headed upstairs to my room locking the door behind me, I slid down the floor and started to cry. I pressed my sweatshirt to my mouth to stop from making loud noises.
My phone went off in my pocket and I fished it out seeing an unknown number come up.
From: Unknown
Hey it's Gerard I ran into your sister and she gave me your number I really hope you can come over friday.

I saved his number into my phone and replied.
To: Gerard
I'll be there don't worry

I set down my phone and went into my bathroom to check my eye, my face was swollen and hurt to touch. "Shit" I mumbled, "this is going to be a bitch to cover up." I sighed and went back into my bedroom laying down on my bed and turning over to stare at the ceiling.
A knock sounded on my door, "Lex? Are you okay?"
I dove under my sheets and pulled my hood over my head pretending to be asleep, the lock clicked on my door and it opened spilling light into my room. "I know you aren't asleep Alexis."
"Don't call me that." I said.
Lace sat down next to me and pulled my hood down to show my swollen face, she gasped, "Dave get in here!"
"What?" He stopped when he saw my face and switched the light on. "What happened?"
"It's nothing really."
"Is it those guys that your hanging out with?"
"You think any of them could hurt a fly?"
He sighed and sat next to me, "was it Kat?"
I sighed and nodded, and started crying. "Shh it's okay they aren't going to touch you again, I promise."
"I-i-it happens everywhere I go, am I the reason we moved here?"
"No honey you aren't mom and dad wanted a change, this wasn't because of you."
My brother and sister both had their arms around me and were whispering comfort words into my ear. "Try to sleep Lex okay?" Lace said getting up and kissing my forehead before heading out the door.
"Yeah try to get some sleep, don't worry about school tomorrow it's cancelled we're supposed to get this freak storm." I nodded falling asleep almost immediately. It's Wednesday I told myself, tomorrow is Thursday no school, and then it'll be Friday and you can hang out with your friends it's going to be alright.
"Fuck this." I whispered shutting and locking my door before heading into my bathroom and turning on my shower to drown out my crying, I pulled off my sweatshirt and tore off my bracelets grabbing my razor blade and digging it into my arm, pulling it across several times until my arm was bleeding profusely, I grabbed a towel wrapping it around the wounds and letting it bleed. I just sat there crying like the pathetic baby I am. My phone vibrated next to me.
From: Gerard
Your sister told me what happened open your window I'm coming over.

I started panicking knowing I couldn't let him come up when I was bleeding like I am.
To: Gerard
It's okay you don't have to come, go to sleep I'll talk to you tomorrow.
I got a response quickly
From: Gerard
Too late I'm already here, either you open the window or I have your sister open it.
To: Gerard
Please just go home, please I don't want you to see me right now. I'm begging Gerard please I'll text you tomorrow.
From: Gerard
Your scaring me Lex, what's going on?
To: Gerard
Nothing please go home.

I didn't get a reply so I let out the breath I had been holding in and I hopped into the the shower, the water hitting my cuts stung so badly but I ignored it. I hopped back out and wrapped a towel around my head and body going back into my room and pulling out some clothes, I turned towards my window and almost screamed at what was in front of me.
Gerard was outside my window tapping on the glass, I ran into the bathroom pulling on my batman pajama pants and a long sleeve lightweight shirt.
I ran back out and opened the window, "what the fuck are you doing here Gee?"
"I'm making sure your okay." He climbed in and looked at me before pulling me into a hug, "you look awful Lex, no offense."
"None taken I know it looks pretty bad."
"It looks like it hurts pretty bad too."
"I've had worse." I said trying to lighten the mood.
He pulled me into another hug and I had to try to hold in the tears that wanted to come out, "you can cry if you want, you aren't getting rid of me that easy."
I chuckled and then it turned into sobs, and they just wouldn't stop I kept crying and crying but he held me and kept telling me 'it'll be alright' at one point Gerard hand ran over my arm and he froze as did I, knowing that he felt the raised marks.
"What's on your arm?"
"N-n-nothing."
"Don't lie." He reached down but I pushed him away turning around. "I'm sorry I won't try to again, I promise I'll let you tell me in your own time."
I started crying again and he held me until I fell asleep.
"Your so special Lex, don't let them take the light from your eyes." He whispered.
