I was only 2 and didn't understand when my parents said they were getting me a new brother. I just sat on my grand mother's knee. I sat impatiently and folded my arms and started wriggling around. "What's wrong Gee-bear?" she asked smiling.
"When my brudder get here?" I asked pouting.
"Soon sweet heart, very soon."
We heard my parents car pull into the drive way. I leapt from my grandma's knee and ran to the window, trying to look, she picked me up and lifted me so I could see. I saw my dad, and my mom, her stomach was flat like before and she was carrying a small bundle of blankets in her arms. I wondered what could have been in there that she was so protective of? I ran to the door and my parents opened it, I ran to the middle of the living room and started running in circles.
"Gerard, come meet your new brother." said my mom. I shrugged my shoulders and toddled over to them. I peered over the blankets, only to see a small baby, he looked at me with big brown eyes and then began to cry. I ran up to my room as my parents and my grandmother cooed over him. Suddenly my door opened and my grandma walked in. "What's wrong sweetie?"
"My parents wuv that more han me." I sniffed.
"They love you both equally. Now come meet your brother Mikey."
"Brudda Mikah?" I asked hopping from my bed. Grandma just smiled at me and took my hand and walked me down stairs. I saw baby Mikey was lying in a basket looking around the room. "Hello Mikah, I'm Gewawd." I smiled peering over the basket to look at him. This time, he grabbed my finger and smiled.
"That's the first time he smiled." said mom with tears in her eyes. I smiled again and kissed his fore head. My parents and my grandmother smiled and said how cute we were.
