Classes from Hell
Lulu's pov.
We dropped the note off in the office a few minutes before lunch ended. Ray went to his other class after we all hugged him, feeling bad that we had to go alone.
Frank, Gee and I all headed to the art room for first period.
"The art teacher, Mr. Lee, is really the only cool teacher at this school. He lets you work on pretty much anything you want, as long as you're productive" Gee told me as we neared our destination.
"Even I admit that he's pretty cool" Frank chimed in.
"Wow, Frank not hating a teacher? Is this normal for him, Gee?" Gee laughed and shook his head while Frank pouted.
"Hey, not funny guys!"
"No, you're right Frank, it wasn't funny. It was hilarious!" We all laughed even Frank, as we walked into the art room. The teacher, who I assumed was Mr. Lee, looked up as the first bell rang.
"Ah, Gerard, Frank my two favorite students! How was your summer?" The boys led me up to the teacher's desk as Mr. Lee smiled at us. He had long-ish curly brown hair and pale skin. He wore a dress shirt, black jeans, worn converse and had on a pair of glasses. And no he was not Asian, he was white.
"Our summer was okay, but we didn't go out much." Gee told him as he leaned against the desk behind him.
"Yeah, we didn't want to mess up our perfect pale complexions!" Frank added.
"Haha! That's pretty much what I did too!" We all laughed and Mr. Lee turned to me.
"So you must be the new student! Is it Lulu?"
"Yeah!" Mr. Lee put out his hand and I shook it.
"I see you've already met Frank and Gerard. Have they been nice to you so far?"
"Yes sir, they have been very welcoming."
"That's great to hear! Why don't you three sit up in front?"
"Sounds good!" Gee and Frank sat down leaving a seat between them for me. Some of the other students started walking in but all went to the back. Mr. Lee had gone back behind his desk and was looking for something.
"Hey Frank, why is everyone crowded in the back?"
"There are two reasons. The first reason is that Gee and I are in the front-"
"And the other reason is that everyone is homophobic at this school and, for some unknown reason, thinks Mr. Lee is gay." Gee finished Frank's sentence.
"That's just sad. He seems like a really nice teacher." I couldn't understand how people could be so heartless.
"I know. Teenagers scare the living shit out of me." I smiled at Gee's poetic-ness as some girl tapped me on the shoulder and handed me note. I opened it:
"I know you're new, so I thought you might want to have some REAL friends. FYI, you're sitting by the f---ot nobodies and emo freaks."
Yeah, 'cause that message really makes me want to be friends with them. I turned back to the group of girls who gave me their cherry chap-stick smiles. They even had seat empty for me. I decided that passing notes was for cowards because I wasn't afraid of what I wanted to tell them.
"Thanks, but I'd rather hang with my cousin and his friends. Oh, FYI, even if he was an emo freak and the other thing, he's still way cooler than you'll ever be, bitch." I turned back around and heard them gasp. Frank and Gee looked at me confused.
"What was that all about?" Frank asked.
I put the note on the table so both Gee and Frank could see it.
"Gee, from now on, you and Mikey are my cousins." I told Gee in a hushed voice as he stared at the note. "I'm not trying to sound like a bitch, but I have a feeling it might help you guys."
"I know, Lulu, and I'd never call you a bitch. We need you more than you could ever know." Gee sounded sad and almost broken.
"I need you too. One day you'll know why, but not know, not yet." I tried holding my voice steady, but it was hard. The three of us turned back towards Mr. Lee as he addressed the class.
"Today you all can just talk, but feel free to borrow some art supplies. You can also talk to me if you need help with anything."
*Time Lapse*
The rest of the day was pretty much the same as art. The teachers just let us sit around and do nothing. In art, we talked to Mr. Lee. He was a cool guy. Gee asked if I wanted to go to his house later. I texted mom and she said yes. She wouldn't be home till six (Yeah, Mikey was safe!) and my dad was working late.
The rest of the classes were nothing like art. None of the teachers were friendly. We sat in the back, alone. It was still fun talking to Gee and Frank, but I was starting to miss that feeling of acceptance I had at my old school. With that said, as long as I accepted by my friends, I was happy.
Classes ended at 3:05, such a random time, but whatever. I walked with Gee and Frank to our lockers.
"So, how was your first day in hell?" Gee asked, leaning against his locker.
"Besides the episode with Mikey and the jocks, not so bad. I worried I would have to make friends with the populars or something which would have sucked." I hated how those girls thought so highly of themselves.
"Yeah, I can't see you hanging out with girls like that." Gee said, looking like he was actually trying to picture it. I thought it was funny.
"So where are we supposed to meet Ray?" Franked asked as we walked down to the first floor.
"We were going to meet him outside where we sat for lunch, but after what happened, I texted Ray that we'd meet him by his locker" Gee replied.
"Cool... where is his locker?" Frankie was still unsure of where we were going.
"First floor, by room 144."
"Ugh, that's all the way on the other side of the school!" Frank whined, dragging his feet. " I don't think I can make it!"
I stopped in front of him and stooped down a little. "Hop on before I change my mind."
Frank sounded delightfully surprised by my offer. "Seriously?! Won't it be awkward for you? I'm a guy" he said, like it wasn't obvious.
"You're a gay guy, so no, this isn't really that awkward."
Gee stood there looking shocked. "You know he's gonna ask for piggy-back-rides all the time now, right?"
"It's okay, I used to do this with my friends all the time." Oh, the memories.
Frankie clapped his hands like a little again. He took a few steps back and I knew he was planning on taking a running start. "Just take it easy on me, okay Frankie?"
"I'll try to, Lulu!" he ran and then jumped on.
"Damn Frankie, you're light as hell!" He must have only weighed 100 pounds.
"Why, thank you! I am a vegetarian, so that helps."
"I didn't know that you were vegetarian. You probably don't want to know that my dad hunts then, do you?" It was true. Muwahaha!!! I is evil!
"Ew! Gross! You animal murderers!"
Hey! Don't insult! Do you want me to put you down?"
"No!"
Gee walked beside me laughing. Frank and I turned to look at him. "I'm sorry, but you two look so funny arguing! It's just too much!"
I stopped walking. It took Frank and I about 5 seconds to picture how funny we must looked at that moment. We both burst out laughing as we walked down the hall. By the time we got to Ray's locker, all three of us had tears in our eyes, and I was almost falling over from the extra weight from Frankie.
Ray just leaned against the lockers staring at us. "Well aren't you three a sight to behold. Look! Frankie isn't the shortest!"
This just made us all laugh more. Even Ray started cracking up.
This is how we left school after my first day.
Quite a charismatic quartet.
