She's just like Frank
Gee's pov.
I had gotten to school a little earlier than usual. Mikey had gone to Ray's house last night for an end of the summer "sleep over." More like an end of summer make out session. They try to hide it, but I know they love each other.
I had walked past this girl sitting under a tree, all by herself. She looks new I thought. I noticed she was listening to music and was quietly singing along. When I recognized the lyrics, I stopped in my tracks.
"Sister, I'm not much a poet but a criminal, and you never had a chance!"
I started to smile. She was singing my song! Why is someone so bright and happy listening to me sing? I stood there watching her a bit. All of a sudden, she looked up as if she knew I was watching her. With her hair out of her face, I could see her pretty, hazel green eyes that looked very similar to Frankie's eyes. Her eyes got wide when she saw me smiling down at her. Gosh, I must look like some crazy weird stalker dude. She stood up and walked towards me. Damn! She reminded me of Frank: short, but won't stand for your crap no matter how much taller you are. I looked down at the ground as she came towards me.
"You're Gerard Way, right?" I looked up slowly and nodded. She put out her hand and introduced herself. "My name's Loui- Lulu!!" She seemed horrified by what she almost said as I shook her hand. She made me laugh.
"Were you going to say Louis?"
She blushed and nodded. "My mom calls me that sometimes."
She looked shy all of a sudden, so I decided to start the conversation.
"So, Lulu, did you just move here?"
"Yeah, I moved here from Chicago at the beginning of summer break."
I was surprised I hadn't seen her around. "How do you like it here so far?"
She looked a little sad. "I guess it's okay. I haven't done much yet. I just miss my old friends."
I didn't want to upset Lulu, so I switched the subject. "So, you listen to My Chem?"
She perked up. "Oh ya! Your voice is amazing! I mean, the whole band is great. I can't stop listening to you!"
Wow. She thinks I'm amazing. Now I couldn't stop blushing. If I wasn't gay, I think I might of had a crush on her. Lulu looked amused.
"Oh come on! I bet you get compliments all the time from class mates."
"No, not really. To be honest, the guys and I are the main targets for the bullies here. You see, gay kids aren't very welcome here." Lulu looked shocked, but not because I was gay. "You seem to be a really nice girl. If you don't want high school to be hell and keep any of your new friends, I suggest you don't make it a habit of talking to me or the guys." I wasn't trying to be rude, I was just trying to protect her. She didn't deserve to be put through the treatment I got. Her response kind of shocked, but delighted me.
"First off, I've got no friends to lose. Second off, I won't stand for that. I appreciate your concern, but I want to be your friend. Whatever jerks are bothering you will be sorry they ever did once they meet me!"
Lulu looked so sweet and innocent, I wondered if she was really capable of anything. I still couldn't believe she didn't have ant friends yet.
The 7:50 bell rang and kids started walking towards the school. I just had to ask her the question: "Can I call you Louis?"
"Only if you let me call you Gee!" she squeaked.
With that, Lulu grabbed my hand and skipped to the door, cutting in front of everyone. She was 5' 2" of pure adorableness. I wonder what the guys would say about her?
