See The Rust Through Your Playground Eyes

Eleven

"We should leave now, Frankie." I said after I had finished my ice-cream.

"O-okay" Frankie muttered.

He didn't seem too happy about leaving, neither was I. But if Linda wanted to, she could have me never see Frankie ever again, so it was best to stay on her good side and be home on time.
I took a hold of Frankie's hand and led him out of the mall.

We got to my car and Frankie squealed when he saw all of his toys. I opened the door for him and he hopped in and continued his hobby of doodling in the window.

-----Time Lapse-----

The drive was relatively quiet. Frankie was the only one talking, most of the time. Saying how happy he was and how much fun he had had. It made the long drive home a lot more entertaining.

Halfway through the drive Frankie fell asleep. It was already dark and the way the moonlight hit his face made him look so beautiful. I almost ran in to a tree because I was too busy staring at his beautiful face to pay attention to the road.

The way I swerved, I was surprised Frankie hadn't woken up. I stopped the car on the side of the road. We were close to home now, so the road was in the middle of nowhere and -obviously- abandoned.

He looked so beautiful. With the little bit of moonlight that was shining through the trees lit his face in just the right angle. Casting long shadows on his cheekbones and highlighting his beautiful features. His perfect skin seeming to glow in the moon light.
I rested my head on the steering wheel and sighed.

What the fuck is this kid doing to me?

I can't let this happen. Whatever 'this' is. I can't let it happen. I can't hurt him. I rather keep my 'urges' under control and keep Frankie safe. I can't risk hurting him. He doesn't deserve it. He's been through enough.

I turned to look at him again. He looked beyond beautiful like this. With this light. He looked so peaceful when he slept, though, I missed seeing his beautiful eyes.
I ran my fingers down the side of his face, his jaw and finally his neck. I tried not to, I really did. But I let my finger slip past the neckline of his shirt, touching his collarbones. He had suck soft skin. So soft and warm.

Frankie stirred slightly, I quickly retracted my hand. I froze, thinking he might have woken up. He didn't though. And I was left sitting there, frozen.

What the hell was I thinking?!

Have I really fallen so low, to be touching little boys while they sleep? I should be ashamed of myself.

I sighed and started the car, steeling one last glance at the sleeping angel in my passenger seat.

-----Time Lapse-----

Frankie was still asleep when I parked the car in front of the house. I could see Linda peek out from behind the curtains in her room.

I opened Frankie's door, careful not to drop him, since he had his head leaned on the window, and undid his seat-belt.

This time I didn't even bother trying to wake him up, I just slid my arms under his knees and across his shoulders and lifted him off the car.

Lori opened the door for me, giving me a strange look when she saw I was carrying Frankie. I ignored her and carried Frankie up to his room. I had just lied him on the bed when Lori enters the room carrying all the toys. I point to a couch and she leaves them there then exits the room, shutting the door behind her.

I turn to Frankie. I sit down on the far end of the bed and take of his shoes and socks, placing them on the floor. Then I stood and walked to the head of the bed, I bent down and undid Frankie's cardigan. My fingers slower and lingering on each button a lot more than what I'm willing to admit. I carefully took it off him and placed it on the sofa near his bed.

Then I pulled the covers over him. I looked down on him, brushing long chocolate hair out of his face. I traced his jawline with the tips of my fingers. Then I lent down and kissed his lips softly.
I left the room quickly. Closing the door behind me and having a heart attack when I saw Linda standing not half a foot away from me.

"You said you would bring him home early." she said.

"It's early." I answered.

"It's almost eleven."

"It's a long drive." I answered, then I pushed past here and walked up to my room.
I heard her open the door to Frankie's room. I hope he doesn't tell her anything.
