I Never Told You What I Do For A Living.

I grab my phone and slide it into my pocket. As I'm about to leave I hear a knock at my door. That's strange,who would come over so late? I walk over to the door and look through the peep hole and see that it's Beast. I shake I head and smile unlocking the door opening it. "Hey Beast, what's up?" "Nothing much man, I just need to talk to you real quick." He says putting his hands in his pockets. "Sure, come on in." I say opening the door wider to let him in. He nods and steps into my apartment walking over into my living room. I close to door and join him in the living room. "Take a seat." I say waving to the couch. "Thanks." He says sitting on the couch getting comfortable. I walk over to the love seat across form him and have a seat pulling out a pack of cigarettes. "So,what do you need to talk about?" I say tossing him a stick and putting one in between my lips. "Well did you hear what happend to Nick?" He says playing with his cigarette. "No. What happend to Nick?" I say not caring,just trying to find a lighter. The guy was an asshole, always trying to get the cops on me and shit but he never did because he wasn't smart. "Well the kids dead." Beast says tossing me a lighter. My eyes widen looking up at Beast. Sure the kid was an ass but he was only 18,he was to young. "What the hell happend to him?" I say lighting my cigarette and tossing Beast the lighter. "Marco. That's what happend to him." Beast says lighting his stick and putting his lighter in his pocket. "Why did Marco kill him? What in the hell did his ass do?" "Well you know how we haven't seen the kid in a month or two? Well he was in jail for getting busted by the cops for murder. Marco end up finding out and didn't trust the kid to not rat him out so he got pissed. Marco has some friends in jail and told them to take him out, so they did." "That's fucking crazy." I say inhaling the smoke. "Yep, it is. I'm telling you this because you need to start being more carful with what your doing. I know you have an assignment tonight and I hope you don't screw up." He say putting the stick in his mouth. I roll my eyes at him. " Don't worry mom, I'll be safe." Beast chuckles "Whatever man. But we are lucky. If we do go to jail we won't be killed by Marcos guys because we have his trust,but some guys are not so lucky as we are." I nod my head. "But shit I'm not going to jail." "Me too. Fuck jail." He says leaning back. "Really? What happend to you wanting to go in there to see your friends and family and shit?" "Fuck that! One of my buddies told me that they make you do push-ups now!" "Making you do push-ups? What a drag!" I say. We berst out laughing at how ridiculous we sound. "But no joke man. Jail dose things to you man. One of my little cosines went in there and when he came out he was mental in the head. He was never the same." He says shaking his head. "I can see why." I say thinking about it. "Well man I'll see you latter. Good luck brother." He says standing up putting out his cig out on the ash tray. "Yep see you latter." I say leading him to the door. He opens it and looks at me. "Please becareful man. Your like another brother to me and if you ass gets in jail, once you come out ill kick your little ass,you hear?" He says pointing at me. I chuckle "Don't get all but hurt. I'll be ok. I'll see you latter." "Latter." He says and walks out my apartment.
