I Have Loved You For A Thousand Years
Situations
Seeing Gerard with Savannah again secretly made me really happy. I hadn't seen him this happy in years, and I was really proud of him. However, I also know there will be great consequences for what they are doing. The whole town of Newark is scared of the Andrews family. He was a very powerful man.
The party was going great and went on until about four in the morning. Frank, Ray and Bob were having a lot of fun with our old friends playing xbox and I was just making sure everybody was happy. I stayed sober, as usual.
Suddenly, there were a few bangs on the front door. Everyone got quiet as I ran over to the door and put my finger to my lips, motioning for everyone to stay quiet. There were a couple more bangs on the door before I pulled it open and saw Savannah standing on my doorstep; a police car in the driveway. My stomach dropped when I saw Gerard wasn't with her.
"Mikey!" she shouted, falling into me and hugging my neck; sobbing. "Gerard is in jail!" She cried. I felt anxiety rise in me. and I stepped out onto the front porch with Savannah so as not to freak everyone out and cause a disturbance. The cop car slowly drove off.
"Savannah, what's going on? What happened?" I asked, holding her out by her shoulders. She wouldn't stop crying. "Savannah! You have to tell me!" I shouted, shaking her. She abruptly stopped crying and came to a little.
"They think he choked me!" She said, distraught. I looked down at her throat and remembered the marks I had saw on her before they left a few hours ago. "I need my purse, it has my bank card in it. We can bail him out," she said, talking so fast I could barely understand what she was saying. I nodded. "it's in his room,"
"Stay here," I commanded. I turned and ran back into the house, grabbing a small, black clutch I assumed to be hers. As I came out of Gerard's room, Frank was standing in the hall.
"Hey, Bud, what happened?" he asked, concerned. I sighed. I had to tell him. I knew he wouldn't freak like I was about to.
"Dude, Gee's in jail, they think he's the one that choked Sav," I explained. Frank's eyes widened, and I elaborated before he could freak. "But everything is fine. She says she has her bank card and can bail him out," I explained coolly. I heaved a sigh, hoping that would help with my building anxiety attack. Frank nodded slowly.
"Alright, Bro. I'm sure everyone's about ready to go home and pass out. I'll stay here and clean up and shit," he said calmly.
We hugged in a brief, non-homosexual way and I turned and ran back out the door to Savannah. She was smoking a cigarette and sitting on the front step. I sat down beside her and had a smoke as well. God knows I needed it.
"This is all my fault," Savannah started. I shook my head while taking a drag.
"No, it's not," I said, exhaling my smoke. "Sav, it's not your fault he hits you and it's definitely not your fault that the police are dumb fucking assholes who jump to conclusions," I assured. She nodded.
"I tried to tell them," she said.
"I know," I said. "You did good, sport," She smiled over at me and I smiled back, hugging her with one arm. "I'm glad you came back here and didn't go home." I said without thinking. She pulled away and looked over at me, her brow furrowed.
"He told you?" she asked, sounding somewhat hurt.
"We want to help you," I tried. She shook her head.
"He's going to kill me!" she cried, scared.
"Sav, stop..." I cooed. "We aren't going to let anything happen to you. You know for sure Gerard won't," She nodded and stood up, throwing her cigarette on the ground and stomping it out. I did the same.
"Let's go bail him out," she said. We climbed into the car and started on our way towards the jail. I honestly had no idea what we were going to do to keep her from getting hurt any worse than she already had, but there had to be something we could do. We all cared about Savannah a whole lot; Frank and I like a sister. I know Gerard had a very special thing for her and he wouldn't let anything happen to her--not at the hands of Drake Andrews.
