"If I'm going to Hell, you're coming down with me."
Chapter 6
Chapter 6
As usual, Frank walked into Mikey's house without knocking. He headed up to Mikey's room, sticking his head in, but this time nobody was there.
"What's up?" A voice asked Frank jumped, startled. Gerard stood behind him, leaning against the wall.
"Noth-nothing. I mean, where's Mikey? He said he'd be-"
"He's supposed to be home." Gerard said. "But then on his way home, he told me that he was staying out a little later. He found a new girlfriend, I think."
"Oh." Frank said. Gerard watched him for a moment, and Frank felt embarrassed. Finally, after another awkward pause, he said "well, I was supposed to drop off a- you know." Frank signaled at his bag. Gerard nodded.
"You can leave that in here."
"Thanks."
After a few more moments of the awkward silence, Frank finally asked "So what happened with those guys at school?"
Gerard gave a little laugh. "I got them all suspended."
"You told?"
Gerard shook his head. "Fuck no. I put coke in everyone's lockers."
"Are you serious?" Frank asked, shocked. "Where'd you get it?"
Gerard shrugged. "I know a guy. And anyway, after their practice, they all drink these energy drinks so me and this other girl, we spiked most of the drinks, so they also really drunk. It was magical."
Frank paused, unsure of how to react. Gerard broke the silence first by laughing and Frank laughed too.
"I had to do a lot of work for that to happen, though. I had to spend way too much money on the coke. But it was totally worth it."
Frank nodded. "I'd see why it would be."
Gerard paused, and then looked back at his room. "Well I guess I'll see you around."
"Wait!" Frank quickly said. Gerard turned around.
"Yeah?"
"I'm just, well my parents are away and I'm just so bored so would you, I don't know, maybe wanna hang out or something? I mean, you don't have too." He quickly added. "I'd just… You know."
Gerard stopped, biting on his lip. "I'm a little busy- I wanted to re organize some of my drawings and hang a couple up. But would you wanna help me?"
"Sure!" Frank said eagerly. Then he forced himself to calm down. "I mean, it sounds cool."
Gerard shrugged. "Come on."
Gerard and Frank walked down the hallway to Gerard's room. It wasn't anything like Frank would have expected. He didn't know what he was expecting- maybe knives lying around the place, with torture weapons and a guillotine?
The room was about half the size of Frank’s room. There was a huge bed, and a desk but other than that there wasn't really any furniture. It smelled like paint and smoke, and a was, in the simplest terms, a mess. There were at least a dozen crates overflowing with comic books and magazines and those 99 cent paperback novel, as well sketch books and portfolio binders and a familiar song was playing on the radio, but Frank couldn’t remember where he heard it from. He just stopped, trying to remember as the song went on:
“I will move away from here, you won’t be afraid to fear. Not thought was put into it, always known it’d come to this.. Things have never been so swell I have never felt so well
Gerard signaled for Frank to sit down, taking him out of the daze. "Come on, help." Gerard said. Frank smiled and started sorting through them.
