Can't Trust a Girl in Blue

“Well shall we explore then?” Echo asks excitedly as she starts walking off into the shadows. Kat follows quickly, holding Echo’s hand tightly as they walk silently down the empty hallways. Making no noise till Echo bumps into a table in the middle of the hallway, making a loud noise that echoes through the halls.

“Oops…” Echo says without a single ounce of fear. Then looks over at her big sister, “Can you help me over, Kat?”

“Sure, but wait for me on the other side.” She says as she picks up Echo’s leg and helps her onto the table, then climbs up after her. They both get down using a chair, with very little noise.

They walk in silence. Then finds that the hallway dead ends.

“Left or right?” Kat looks down at her little sister.

“Right.” Echo replies, then turns to the right and follows the hallway onward.

They both stop dead in their tracks as they notice a third shadow on the floor between them, a shadow of a man not much taller than Kat but much broader. They turn around instantly. Fear consumes as the man before them opens his mouth to speak, “You don’t belong here.”

“W-we only seek shelter from the storm.” Echo says shaking. “We were on our way home and the storm hit.”

The man walks towards them. Grabbing hold of Echo’s arm and drags her towards her sister standing in complete shock still, grabbing her too. “It’s not okay to trespass.” The man’s deep voice drowns the girls in fear. “And it’s not okay to lie.”
