Can't Trust a Girl in Blue
Chapter 14 - It gets better
Kat wakes to the noise of her and Echos cell door being slammed open. Bright lights floor the room. She didn't even flinch. Crawling in her mind was Alek. Should she trust him? She wanted to, but it was hard to because he is a twin of the man who beat and starved her and her younger sister. She just can't find the strength to trust him. But realizing her thoughts were flooding her mind and overtaking her senses. She forgot that her abuser even entered the room. Not till his ice hold hand cuffed her cheek. She flinches but doesn't pull away, just closes her eyes and tries to keep a calm mind. Suddenly the dark voice she fears so much cuts away the silence, "You two have been awfully silent." Her abuser takes away his hand. "You need to be less quiet. Ha. Maybe scream more. Agony is my favorite sound." He slaps Kats face so hard she coughs blood. She barely makes a sound. Then he turns to Echo lying under the black sheet. He walks over and rips the sheet off in a hurry. He grabs for her throat with both hands, squeezing tight and then punches her side. She winches away in pain, like she is too out of strength to even scream anymore.
He rolls his eyes and walks out. "You guys are boring, don't even scream anymore. Don't even plead or beg for me to stop." Then he slams the door and stomps away. Echo let's loose her scream she was holding back. She pants and cries, scared out of her mind, and the door reopens. Alek appears in the doorway, wearing a smile but worried eyes.
He steps in and shuts the door behind him. "Echo that was amazing! How did you hold back to that? That was perfect! And Kat, you where good as well! Exactly what I wanted out of both of you two. I told you he can't stand the silence. Two brave girls, both deserve to be free for a while."
He walks towards Echo first. Unchaining her from the table, he then hugs her tight and looks towards Kat. Holding onto Echo's hand, he goes to Kat, unchaining her as well. He and Echo help her down, then group hug.
Echoes big blue eyes look up into Aleks almost black eyes. "What shall we do today?"
A pause while he digs in thought. "I have a surprise for you Echo." He winks at her, Kat doesn't pay much attention.
Alek, still holding Echos hand, edges towards the door.
Kat looks up. "Where are you two off too?"
Alek speaks first. "Well I have a surprise for her. So you get the room to yourself today." He looks down at Echo, a smile across her face.
Kat nods and looks away sad. Alek walks out the room with Echo, but before he shuts the door her pushes a bright blue box in the room with his foot. He shuts the door and walks off with Echo. Kat stands up, noticing the box, and goes towards it. Taking it back to her spot against the wall, she hesitates to open it. But when she finally gains the strength to she is overjoyed by all the colors of beads in the box. Laughs at herself and starts working, making random anything. Pulling out the sketch pad and draws all over it, overjoyed by her favorite pass time things. A big smile covering her face distracts her mind from her worries of Echo and Alek getting in trouble.
Notes
Last chapter he left lunch to talk to Echo and Kat about how to end their sufferings in attempt to gain trust. a more in depth thought is that this was also the exact day of Echos birthday and Alek took Echo away to be alone with him. They are now in love and Alek is trying to show that he does want Kats liking of him by giving her a gift as what she enjoys most.
