Can't Trust a Girl in Blue

The younger brother was heading for a usual check of the doors. It was right after the meeting. He still had red marks from all the fighting that just took place.

He had all the sick put away, and then sees a door ajar. Walking with no sound as fast as possible towards it. Then pauses as he realizes this hallway holds no patients. Still, the door shouldn’t be open. He continues towards the door to open it more, peeking in as his hand meets with the door. His older brother holds the door from the other side, showing his face, blocking all view of the room. “Brother, you startled me. Why are you here?” They younger brother asks confused.

His older brother stutters as he speaks, “I- umm… am just cleaning this room. I hope to fill it soon.”

“We never use this hallways rooms. You said you don’t like to fill rooms of such distance from ours.” The younger brother stares in confusion.

“I plan to explore our options for the future.” The other brother responds in confidence, starring his younger brother in the eyes daring for a challenging remark. Instead his younger brother dismisses him with a simple nod and walks off.

Back to his room after the walkthrough, the younger brother lays in his bed. Peeks at his clock, 3:36 am, and then pulls up his covers over his head and tries to go to sleep.
