It was around midnight when we got back. I hate being out late. I like getting to bed early, because I naturally wake up before 7 A.M. We hid the car and opened up the hold in the ground. Our house is in an abandoned sewer system that's actually quite roomy. Thrill Killer and I made sure that it didn't stink, either.
There were other people in our system, too. Even whole families. The smart groups hooked up electric and water systems. Every group was assigned an amount of space. It was like a huge apartment building, only long and underground.
Our space was near the front, because we were among the first to live down here. Newer residents lived for miles father down, so there were more entrances for a few more miles around our part of the desert.
I unlocked the door and we paraded into our home. I ripped off my combat boots and laid my sunglasses next to them. I then went into the little bathroom to get into my pajamas. It felt good wearing comfy, fluffy PJs. My Killjoy clothes are worn, yellow skinny jeans and a black, ripped Misfits shirt, with metal and rubber bracelets going up both of my arms. I thought I looked pretty cool and rebellious.
I left the bathroom and threw myself onto one of the beds. Our space is one huge, open room (apart from the bathroom), it was like a loft. I love it. I snuggled up into one of the blankets, and called goodnight to my killjoys.
Then, Battery Monster cuddled his way into the other side of my bed. He wrapped his arms around me, and kissed my forehead. I smiled, and buried my head in his shoulders. Monster has cuddled me for a while now, and I couldn't be any happier. I felt sage from all the dracs and scarecrows, and it was nice and warm.
I fell asleep quickly, like always.
