"Welcome to Better Living Industries!" the automated voice rang out. "We are a facility built to recreate happiness and perfection. Here in Battery City, life is perfect and our citizens are happy. Have you smiled today?"
Soon, an alarm was sounding out across the entire city. The building erupted in action with every Drac and S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W getting on their feet and aiming at the crowd. Killjoys, hundreds of them, were taking the streets by storm. We were taking a stand. We were fighting back.
We were doing what our fathers died trying to.
Riots erupted everywhere and soon small fires had started out. We were all rushing the gates of the brick building and soon found ourselves inside surrounded by guns and rays of light. We took out who and what we could with what we had, and luckily we still had everyone intact. I grabbed Maggie's hand and pulled her over to a wall, slipping my mask over my face. She pulled her bandanna over hers and nodded. I looked over at the Iero kids and nodded too, making sure they understood the plan. I looked up at Toro's son and flicked my head in recognition.
We were the kids of the revolution.
I snatched my gun from its holster and slid across the floor on my knees as Miles used his Bowie knife and slit the back of the Achilles on some Drac who was aiming for his sister. I'm not really sure which one it was, now that I think about it. We eventually found ourselves where we wanted to be: Korse's quarters. We unlocked him and dragged his ass over to the window once we were safe. We stood in front of our brothers in arms and threw our fists into the air triumphantly. Soon, Korse's getup had turned on automatically and he let out a shriek of rage.
"Killjoyyyyyys!" he hissed, reaching for his gun on his hip. Cherry kicked his hand away and with the toe of her boot, flicked it into the crowd.
"Toro..." I nodded towards him and he nodded too, and soon tied Korse's hands together behind his back.
"What are you doing, Killjoys? You'll never get away with this!"
"Ohhhh, you see," Miles laughed, gesturing to the now beaten and bloody bodies of the employees of the building in the crowd. "We already have."
"I recognize those eyes," Korse sneered. "I recognize every one of ya! You think I didn't memorize your daddies' files?"
Lily let out a snarl of rage and used the butt of her gun and whacked it against his nose. "You have no right to speak of our fathers, you piece of shit!"
Korse just laughed, which creeped all of us out. "Your fathers were swines. They were meant to be slaughtered!"
"Yeah," I sighed, kneeling in front of him. "And you're nothing better."
I turned away from him and faced the crowd, stepping down the steps a bit.
"Listen up, all you Crash Queens and Motor Babies," I started. The crowd got real loud after that and erupted into cheers and applause. Once they died down, I continued. "This man--" I pointed at Korse "--took everything from us! Our homes, our parents, our lives! And he led us to believe that we could trust him!"
The crowd started to jeer and boo, which made me smile sourly.
"Does he deserve death?!"
"HELL YES!"
"Or does he deserve destruction...?"
The crowd got silent after that last part. Miles came down beside me and clapped my shoulder.
"THE FUTURE IS BULLETPROOF!"
And the crowd responded: "THE AFTERMATH IS SECONDARY."
I continued with my speech of greatness, looking up at the sky for a second. "Our fathers once said, 'This cleaned up corporation progress is dying in the process. You are the children that can talk about and you're dying on the railways!' We are Generation: Nothing, nothing but a product of a white dream! And to the ever so hospitable and gracious Better Living Industries, we say--"
And the crowd joined us as we thrust our fists into the air three times each.
"YOU! CANNOT! DESTROY ME!"
I turned to Cherry who tore out Korse's battery pack and destroyed it with her gun.
Korse looked at it in horror as he realized what had happened. He looked up at me as I stood in front of him again, surrounded by my cousin and 4 best friends.
"What's the line I'm looking for?" he sneered. "Oh, right. 'Any last words?'" And he started to laugh.
I aimed my gun right under his chin like he had done to my father and laughed too. "Yeah. I have a few."
"And what would that be, my dear?"
I heard Cherry give the okay for the riots in the streets to start burning the bodies of employees from the building and I smiled a big smile for Korse just before I ghosted him.
"Keep running."
Notes
So in case you couldn't tell, it's from Bandit's POV. Pretty much, she and Mikey's kid (hypothetical, of course), and Toro's son and the Iero kids all grew up in the halls of BL/I and when they found out who they truly were, they started a revolution.
YES PART 2!!!
Gah I love these
