Star Struck
Wish upon a star
“Javi wake up hon, don’t wanna be late for school.” Javi’s mom called from downstairs. Javi groaned and looked at her clock. It was 6:45 it was also a Friday. She rolled out of bed and went to the bathroom to do her morning routine. She grabbed her favorite Green day tee and a pair of green skinny jeans. She slipped on her gray flats and went to her mirror. She combed and brushed her dark brown hair back into a ponytail. She grabbed and headed downstairs. She kissed her mom bye and went to her bus stop. When it came she sat in the very back. She had the seat to herself. She got her favorite book and read it for the whole bus ride to school.
As soon as she got into the building she went straight to her locker with her head down. She was on her way to Math when she bumped into someone, causing them to spill all their coffee on their shirt, and her to drop her books. “I’m so sorry I didn’t see you.” She apologized while they gathered her stuff. She finally looked up to see it was none other than Jayyvon Monroe. She felt her cheeks heat up. “It’s okay I should have been paying more attention to where I was going.” She looked down at her his shirt which was covered in coffee. “I’m sorry I ruined your shirt.” She moved her gaze back to the floor. He smiled that beautiful smiled again. “That’s okay I never really liked this shirt anyway.” He reassured her. The bell ringed signaling that she was late for class. When she turned to leave, he grabbed her arm gently. “What’s your name?” He asked. “Javi.” She replied quietly. “Jayy.” He smiled again. “Bye Javi.” He said as he let go of her arm. “Bye.” she whispered even though he couldn’t hear her anymore.
Javi hurried to her next class, which was science. She hated this class not because she didn’t like science, but because of Dahvie Vanity. He always bullied her verbally. He would trip her every now and then. Sometimes if he was angry, he would push her around. He would even raise his fist at her, but other than that he never really hit her with his hands. Nevertheless, some of the things he said made her wish he would just beat her up. She had all classes except for STEM (science engineering and mathematics) with him. Her seat was in front of his. When she went to sit down, he pulled her chair back. She didn’t notice so she wound up on her butt. She let out a pained gasped. Dahvie started to giggle. She knew if she made any more noise or complained that Dahvie would get mad. She knew one day he would hit her if she got him mad enough and getting him in trouble would not help her now. Therefore, she got up, pulled her chair back in the right place, and sat down. When she opened her science book Dahvie started to throw stuff at the back of her head. She knew today was gonna be a long day.
~~~~~~Time Lasp~~~~~~
When Javi got home her already left for work. Javi only gets to see her mom in the mornings and Sundays. She went to the kitchen to get some water and did her homework. By the time she was done it was 8:00, so she took her shower and went to her room. She looked through the channels for a while, but nothing good was on so she cut her television off and tried to sleep. The house was so dark and quite. She hated it. It wouldn’t be so bad if she wasn’t alone. She sighed and got out of bed to look out her window. She only saw one star. She felt bad for the little star. She knew what it was like to be alone. Javi closed her eyes. “I wish I wasn’t so lonely. I wish I had a friend. A friend that would always be there for me.” She opened her eyes and looked up at the star once more before going back to bed. When she left the window the star twinkled and slowly faded away.
