Romance Reloaded

Promise you'll never leave me.

Kats POV

The warm spring sunshine shone through the window of Frank’s black sports car as I drove down the street in the direction of the way’s house. I fixed my hair in the rear-view mirror as I stopped at the traffic lights. Today was the first time I’d actually attempted to make myself look presentable since Frank left. I was wearing thick black eyeliner curled up at the corners my forest green eyes and my rouge lips glistened on my pale face. My leather choker locked tightly around my neck with a catholic cross hanging from it gracefully on the translucent, icy looking skin between my collar bones. My black and red laced top hugged tightly around my hips overlapping the top of my red skinny jeans slightly. I couldn’t deny it; I was trying to impress him. I parked Frank’s car outside the house and I sat in the driver’s seat tapping my nails on the steering wheel. It had been so long since I’d seen them, and I was actually feeling nervous about it. I swallowed my pride and got out of the car to walk up to the front door. My hand shook awkwardly as I rang the bell. Footsteps grew incessantly closer and muffled voices echoed in alternate directions from behind the door.

“Oh look, it seems one of our fans has followed us home. Sorry we’re not doing signings yet.” Gerard said sarcastically as he opened the door. “Oh knock it off Gee.” I giggled as I threw my arms around him for a hug. He squeezed me tight and whispered in my ear. “It’s not been the same without you.” I peered over his shoulder to see Mikey running out of the kitchen. “Kat! Great to see you!” he began excitedly. I let go of Gerard and walked in from the porch. “the tour was amazing but we needed our Jersey girl there.” Mikey stepped back from my proposed hug and offered to high five me instead. “I wish I could have been there, Mikey.” I admitted whilst glancing around in search of Ray and Frank. “Ray’s in the garage.” Gee intervened. Something felt a little off putting about the atmosphere around me, it was less friendly than usual. I nodded in response to Gee and walked through the kitchen with Mikey following close behind. “Hey, bro with the fro. Nice to see you again!” I announced as I walked into the garage. Ray was sat on a speaker playing ‘smoke on the water’ on his guitar with a cigarette loosely hanging from his lips. He looked up and smiled, removing the cigarette from his mouth and placing the guitar on the floor. “Hey, Kat. Wow, it’s been a long time.” He stood up and embraced me in a tight and slightly uncomfortable hug. “Yeah, it really has.” I breathed.

After a short catch up with the guys I decided to ask the inevitable. “Umm. Where’s Frank?” I questioned awkwardly. Gerard turned his nose up and looked out of the garage door. “He’s at home.” He stated in a blunt, snooty fashion. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion at Gee’s reaction. “I’ll take you over there.” Ray offered. “it’s only a short walk from here.” I accepted his offer and we both went out of the garage, leaving Mikey and Gerard behind. “What’s up with Gee?” I asked as ray and I strolled down the sidewalk side by side. He thought for a moment and then shrugged his shoulders. “He seems to have been like that since he stopped drinking. It’s probably withdrawal symptoms.” I tilted my head in confusion. “Why did he stop drinking?”
Ray sighed and scrunched his hair with his hand. “He was starting to drink more and more, it was becoming a problem. We were in Miami one night, when I came back from the bar Frank and Gee were already on the bus. Frank was telling us how he’d convinced him to stop drinking. I don’t know what he did but it sure worked. He hasn’t had a drop since.”

I nodded understandingly as we walked down the path of two story red brick house. The garden was plain but well kept; the porch had 3 stone steps leading up to a navy blue door with a brass door handle. “Here we are. Frank’s house.” Ray smiled as we stepped onto the porch. He didn’t bother to ring the doorbell, we just opened the unlocked door and stepped inside. “Hey Frank! You’ve got a visitor.” Ray shouted through the house. It was quite small inside, smaller than Gerard’s place but more stylish. We walked into a black tiled corridor with white walls, vinyl’s hung on the walls around us. We walked up a stair case onto the hall, loud music could now be heard from a red door at the opposing end of the room. Ray walked towards it and knocked frantically a few times before the music quietened and the door opened.

Frank poked his head around the door and looked at Ray in confusion, his eyes soon drifter over his shoulder to me. A smile spread across Frank’s face and his eyes glowed a warm, familiar Hazel. “I gotta go guys. See you around Frank. Bye Kat.” At that Ray ran off down the stairs. Frank opened the door and stepped towards me, neither of us had said a word yet. It still felt like a dream. Gently wrapping one arm around my waist and his other hand running up my neck and jaw bone Frank smiled appreciatively before planting his lips on mine. At first his kiss was unsure and awkward but the moment came to life and he deepened the kiss, holding my body closer, almost shaking with happiness. He detached his lips from mine and gazed lovingly into my teary eyes. “I’ve missed you.” I sniffed back the tears and smiled. “I’ve missed you too.” Frank wasted no time in picking me up and carrying me into his room and throwing me down on his bed beside a guitar.

His room was dark, the walls covered in numerous posters of rock bands over dark red paint. The air was thick with smoke and deodorant. I didn’t mind, it was the scent I missed so much. Frank threw himself on top of me and kissed me again. “I’ve waited so fucking long for this moment.” He whispered before biting down playfully on my neck. I groaned and ran my fingers through his hair. “Promise you’ll never leave me again?” I asked through heavy breaths as Frank’s hands explored my body appreciatively. He kissed gently down my neck and began to carefully tug my top over my head, revealing my pale, almost white body. I was shaking in anticipation, his touch I so craved after all of these months. My heart pounded faster and faster as his hands travelled further down my body, sliding off my skinny jeans after I kicked my shoes onto the floor. His passion was so much greater than I remembered; his touch was so much more enticing. Every second, every touch, every heart beat was utter bliss. I didn’t want it to end.
