A Night Worth Remembering
From Curse To Cure
Frank’s P.O.V
I’m the lead, in a play that I didn’t want to be a part of and on top of that I haven’t even read the stupid thing. I bet it’s going to be the same thing as always. Every year we do the same thing anyways so it can’t be that hard. Well I better get to reading then.
~~~~~~Skipping him reading because it gives too much away~~~~
I cannot believe this, it may be because I am head over heels for Gerard or that I am a very horny teenage boy, but this play is very provocative. I have to talk to the teacher and tell her that I can not, no, will not do this play!
~~~Next Day~~~
“Hey, Ms. can I talk to you for a couple of minutes?” I asked our theater teacher.
“Yes, Franklin. What’s troubling you?”
“Well the play in general. I don’t want you to take it the wrong way or think wrong of me, but this play just that I feel like this play is a bit too much?”
“Well yes, it is a new play and it will only be performed this once, and you’re the reason why Frank. I like that you picked up on the secondary plot that is in this play. I didn’t think that anyone would see it, but I’m glad you did.”
“Okay, now I am lost beyond belief.”
“Okay, I know that everyone sees that the play is about a bar owner that starts to have feelings for the mystery singer at his bar and then he confides in his friend, blah, blah blah. I wrote that as the main storyline because I knew that the school wouldn’t approve of a gay couple in the play.”
“Now I’m even more lost.”
“I have this play saved since your freshman year because I saw the day that you looked at Gerard since the very first day that you walked in through that door on the first day of your freshman year. I knew that you were gay and I knew that you were never going to tell him so I chose you for the lead of the play and him as your best friend for you guys to get to know each other and you finally tell him that you like him!”
“Wait! So you have kept this because you knew that I was gay and would never tell Gerard that I like him?”
“Yeah pretty much.”
“Oh My God! Am I that obvious?”
“Yeah pretty much, well no, but I feel like if I didn’t do anything you weren’t going to go either.”
“Wow, you are like the best teacher ever! I could like kiss you!”
“I don’t think my girlfriend would like that.”
“Girlfriend?”
“Yeah.”
“Wow you just got so much cooler, you have no idea.”
“Thank you. So you’ll do the play?”
“Yeah I’ll do the play.”
“Great, thank you’, I was just about to turn around and leave when she adds, “and Frank, good luck.” I gave her a weary smile and walked away. Who would have known that my teacher that I though was the living devil would be the woman to hand me the chance I needed?
