"What do you do, Gerard?" Alana asked as she poured gravy over her mashed potatoes "I work at Hot Topic. 40% discount for employees." Gerard smiled and squeezed Kat's hand "He bought me my Zero slippers." Kat giggled as she took a sip of wine. Baylie gagged and rolled her eyes with disapproval as she scarfed her food. Baylie was stubborn and rude, completely undisciplined unlike her older sister. "So Baylie, how old are you?" Gerard asked kindly "I'm 14 almost 15." she snorted "What's with your hair? Is it always that greasy?" "Baylie Cherie Lang! Don't be so rude!" Alana screeched as Don burst into hysterical laughter, Kat and Gerard rolling their eyes and quietly eating their food. Kat had warned him before leaving that her sister was bound to make some sort of comment. Gerard finished his drink and got up, taking his dishes and washing up before walking back and putting his arms around Kat. Kat leaned her head back and pressed a kiss to his chin. "Not at the table please." Don said gruffly "Dad..he's my boyfriend." she got up to clean up after herself, sitting in the living room after she had finished. "Kat. Dad means well and he just wants to protect you." Alana sat next to her daughter and put an arm around her "I'm 22, I have a job and a boyfriend and a job. I'm protecting myself. I love Gerard and Dad can't handle it." Kat whispered "Me and Dad haven't got along since I was 8. I'm independent and he can't change that. He needs to accept what it is."
