What can I say?
Early Bird gets the worm
"Frank! It's Almost 6:30, get up!" My mom shouts from the stairs.
"Yeah K thanks, ma," I groan back at her, rubbing the sleep off my eyes. "Great. new day. New school. New kid.." I mumble to myself, dragging the covers over my face. Hoping to get a few more minutes of sleep until I'm awaken again.
"c'mon Frankie," my mom once again knocks on my door. I peek out from the cover to find her outside my door. I sigh as I toss my legs of the edge of my bed and stand up. My mother sees I'm only in my boxers and decides to go back down stairs. I chuckle to myself and run my hands through my hair. "Great..." I start to think about the new life I'm leading myself into.
I drag myself, half asleep into a steaming shower. Scrubbing my hair with shampoo.
Fully awake I make way to my cluttered closet and randomly select a the first shirt I see. Which so happens to be a Black Flag shirt. I hop and wiggle into black skinny jeans and shove my feet into Red converse before heading back to my mirror. Picking up my nose and lip ring, I push them into place. My eyes water from the holes trying to heal over night. I look down at my counter and find my eye liner, I pull my eye lids down and apply the black charcoal. Soon I'm pleased with my appearance I slide out of my room and hop down my stairs two at a time. I make my way to my kitchen and find a plate of pankcakes calling my name. I dive into my chair and start attacking my innocent meal.
"Frank, you all ready for school?" My mom asks, pouring herself coffee.
I look up at her with a mouth full of food "Mhmm,"
She hands me a mug full of coffee. "You sure you're okay with walking to and from school? I could always drive you" She pats me back, looking concerned.
I swallow my food, "Yeah mom it's cool. Plus I have to get to know the place."
"Oh, okay. You are 17 so you should be able to make your own desicions.. It's just I'm not that comfortable with the circumstances of Jersey."
I chuckle at my mom "Hey, it's okay. If I get mugged I'll call you, I promise." I kiss her cheek before grabbing my bag and heading out the door. Junior year, here I come.
