I Take A Drink 'Cause The Truth Is Hard To Swallow

Frankie and I fell asleep after that.

We woke up to the sound of someone pounding on our front door.

“Wait. I’ll get it.” I mumbled to Frankie before getting up and to the front door.

When I opened it I saw two professional looking men.

“Can I help you?” I ask

“Yes, we are here to speak to Mr. Franklin Iero?”

I beacon them to come in.

We sit in the living room and then I speak, “What for?”

“We have to speak to him about his parents’ will and the company ‘Demolition Ammunition’.”

What?

Just then Frankie walks in, he sits next to me but I don’t wrap my arm around his waist. I’m still kind of shocked.

If Frankie is entitled to the company that means he would have to do his father’s job. This means he would barely have any free time and he would have many more enemies.

This could fuck our relationship up…very badly.

I definitely didn’t want him to sign.

Not now. Not ever.

“What is it?” Frankie asks, looking between me and the guys in suits.

“You are Frank Iero Jr.?” Frankie nods, “Okay, we came so you can sign a few papers. Then all of your parent’s possessions will be yours.”

Frankie didn’t look half as shocked as I felt.

He didn’t look shocked at all.

“What exactly do they own?” he asks, looking quite bored.

“The company, quite a few properties –which have been sold, you will receive the money-, a house here in Utah and all the money in their bank account….You can move in to the house as soon as you sign.”

Frankie nods absent mindedly, “Yeah, that seems right, okay. Where do I sign?”

I watched in horror as the men handed Frankie the papers and he signed them without as much as a second thought.

They told Frankie something else but I was too busy trying to figure out how this would affect our relationship that I didn’t even listen.

Fuck. I need a drink so bad.

Frankie led them out and a minute later he sat down next to me, “What’s wrong?” he asked as he took a sip from a bottle of blood I didn’t even notice he had.

“Why did you do that?” I whisper.

“Because my parents are –were- assholes, the least they can do is give me all their stuff now that they’re dead.” He said unaltered.

“Do you realize how complicated shit is going to get now?!” I hiss.

“What? Why? I have money, a house and a job! What’s so fucking bad about that?!” he asks.

“This is going to fuck up with us as a couple!”

“What?! Just ‘cause there is something in my life apart from you doesn’t mean our relationship iss going to hell.” He answers.

He smiles at me and I can’t help but smile back.

I should stop being so paranoid.

We are going to be okay.

I turn to the door of the living room in time to see my Ma and Father walk in.

Fuck.

Ma is here.

We might not be so okay.
