Star Crossed Lovers

Silence, that was the only thing to be heard while we waited in the dark. Waiting, waiting and waiting its what we had been doing for hours. Waiting for a sound anything, anything that would tell us when the creatures were near. Even though there was no need to depend on those senses we still did for maximum accuracy. We knew they were near from the spark of passion that it ignited within our very beings. Passion that would grow. The passion to kill.

It was minutes later when we heard the first hiss. The tell tale hiss of a vampire who recognizes our presence. Those idiotic creatures never realize what we are by our smell until we have them within our grasp with no hope of escape for them. We as my clan does, who come from a long line of hunters have a distinct smell that appeals to the vampire even from a mile away. Only very few know of our special scent that attracts them into their own demise. Therefore it being one of the most valuable weapons a hunter as my self can have.

The creature lets out a few more hisses as it's family joins it trying to let us know that we are out numbered. Miserable thing doesn't realize that there are five times the amount of hunters of his pitiful family of four.

I watch as the first of our group runs into the clearing from our safe haven of trees. He easily shoots one in its leg while running at another to slit its throat and stake its heart. I smile and jump down from the tree were I am sitting to join in on the fun.
