I don't know how long I sat on the roof top for, hours probably. The sun was fully out and it was hurting my eyes so I turned away to face the other horizon. The last of the dark sky was fading and just when it had completely disappeared I heard footsteps behind me and someone sat down next to me. I knew it was Gerard.
"You missed breakfast." he said.
I shrugged. "I'm not hungry."
"So what are you doing up here?" he asked.
"Just thinking."
"What about?"
I hesitated. "Our time with Korse and BL/ind."
I felt him stiffen. "Why?"
"I don't know, the memories just came back to me." I replied. I couldn't tell him about the plans that I had been contemplating over the last couple of hours. He would try and stop me. "What brings you up here?" I asked him.
"I was looking for you." he replied.
We sat there in silence for a while, just looking at the horizon, each in our own little worlds. I looked at Gerard out of the corner of my eye, he was staring out at the horizon, at the mountains that sat to the side. He caught me looking and flinched. "What?" he asked.
"I think we should be getting back inside now." I said quickly.
He got up and I followed him down the stairs. I poked my head into mine and Ray's room to see if he was in there, the room was empty. I decided to see if he was in Gee and Mikey's room where I collided with Gerard's back. "Hey what are you doing just sta-" I was cut short when I saw Ray and Mikey making out. What the fuck did I just witness. They were now standing about a metre apart with the guiltiest expressions on their now red faces.
"Kobra, what were you and Jet just doing?" Gee asked quietly, his face pale and shock written all over it.
"Uh, n-nothing." Mikey said, refusing to look at Gerard.
"You were definitely doing something." I said, looking at them both, trying to hide my smirk, this was kinda funny.
"We were talking." Mikey said, a very obvious lie.
"With your tongues?" I asked.
Gerard turned around and gave me a dirty look and Ray and Mikey jumped and yelled, "No!" in unison.
"Mikey…" Gerard said. I could hear the hurt in his voice, he probably felt hurt because he hadn't told him. "Just please explain this to me."
"Okay." Mikey said quietly. Ray grabbed his hand and he visibly relaxed. "Jet's my boyfriend. We didn't want to tell you guys yet, because we didn't know how you would react. I know that sounds really cliché and stupid, but it's true."
"How long?" Gerard asked, looking at Ray this time.
"About a week." Ray answered.
Gerard sat down on his bed and looked at his feet. "Well, I'm glad that I know now." he said with a smile.
"Thanks for understanding." Mikey said and hugged his big brother. "And sorry that you had to see that Ghoul." he said to me.
"That's fine." I said. "I'll leave you guys to it then." I said and I walked out. I headed out to the car where it was still parked around the corner. I jumped in the back and grabbed my bag from under the seat, I opened it, hoping I still had some explosives and a spare ray gun. Yep. I kept rummaging around and I heard some paper crumple. I saw it at the bottom and pulled it out. I flattened it out a little and just looked at it. It was a picture of me, Gee, Mikey and Ray before the Danger Days, before Korse and BL/ind. I smiled slightly, we were younger looking, smiling like there was no tomorrow and we weren't as tired looking as we were now. I missed those days, when we weren't fighting for our lives or being tortured or running from our enemy. When we were free.
