I Lost My Fear of Falling
Chapter 2 The Kiss
Frank’s P.O.V.
“Well, I don't remember, why remember...YOU?!” Gerard sang into the microphone and proceeded to stride across the stage. I left my mike and walked to the left, towards center stage. I saw Gerard approaching me with a devilish grin on his face, and before I could realize what was happening, he closed the distance between us, entwining his left hand into my sweaty hair and crashing his lips onto mine.
Would it be cliché if I said that an electric current ran through me? Or that time slowed down and the music from the stage and the screaming from the crowd faded? Because that’s what happened, and I instantly wrapped my arm around his back. His lips were furiously moving against mine before I granted him access to my mouth and parted my lips. He instantly shoved his tongue in my mouth, rapidly exploring the new setting. His hand let go of its grip on my hair and moved down to my cheek. Then, as suddenly as it had all started, Gerard ended the kiss by shoving my face and body away from his. I was aggravated to say the least, but at that moment, the show had to go on. I continued playing and shoved the memory to the back of my mind, to be thought about later.
Gerard’s P.O.V.
We continued to play the rest of the set, pumping up the crowd with “Teenagers”, “Helena” in honor of my and Mikey’s grandmother, and finishing off with an encore of “Cancer.” When the show finished, the guys all went backstage, and I went to congratulate them all for another great show. Ray, Bob, and Mikey sat down on a couch, each with a beer in hand. I stayed standing.
“Gee, coke?” Bob offered, an unopened plastic bottle in his hand. I wanted to accept, but right at that moment I noticed Frank’s gaze at me, and our eyes locked for a few seconds. I knew that he wanted to talk to me, but I didn’t know what he’d say.
“Umm, no thanks. I’m just gonna go outside for a smoke.” I replied to Bob’s offer.
I wasn’t sure why I’d done what I did, or how it started. But I did know this: I had kissed Frank Iero, and it had felt good.
