Looking into Frank's eyes, you can see the hurt. The hurt of how many times Gerard has turned him down.

"But Gerard..." Frank pleads to his secret lover.

"No Frank. I can't love you. It's just not possible, okay? What happened on stage, that's just stage gay. Nothing more." Gerard retorts, giving Frank a look of warning. Frank just reverts his gaze to the ground, nodding slightly. A silent tear drips from his eye, but Gerard doesn't notice.

And as Gerard walks away, Frank knows that he'll never get to know what it feels like to be truly loved by the coffee loving man that he's come to admire greatly.
