Damn All The Hott Ones Are Taken
I sighed and got myself dressed and headed up the stairs to talk to Dr.D, things haven't been better since he told me he knew everything. I know I was being childish but how could someone do that? I talked to him, but I haven't called him dad or really talked to him about anything besides killjoy crap. He's tried to talked to me many time in the past but I just shook him off.
When I saw him sitting in one of the booths I sat across from him, when he saw me, his face lit up but I kept my straight. Kobra and Jet were standing in the back watching us, they all knew the truth and agreed with me.
"Hey Blue!" Dr.D said.
"Hello."
"Happy birthday!" He said, I sighed knowing everyone heard him.
"Its your birthday!?" Kobra and Jet yelled.
"It's her birthday?" Party asked. "Why didn't you say something? I would have done something special." He said looking at me.
"They didnt know? I thought Party at least did." Dr.D said.
"Why would you think that?" I asked.
"Well.... From the ... noise... you guys were making I would have thought so." Party was turning red and the guys were laughing at him. I on the other hand was just getting pissed off, he had no right to judge my sex life.
"Can you get to the point?" I asked.
He sighed and pulled out a file. "As you know, after 2 years of being mentored, you are required to do a solo mission, if successful then you become a killjoys, if not then we disuses other options."
"So what is my mission?"
"There is a young boy, age 5, being taken from Battery City tonight, a team is going in to get him, your job, is to deliver him to Safe Haven."
"That's it?" I asked a little disappointed
"Its a bit more complicated than that Blue, the car you will be driving will be identical to those of the killjoys ressucing him, its a trade off, you take off while they stay and fight. It is a 10 hour drive from the gates of Battery City to Safe Haven, now normally, I would give this to a team of two killjoys, but this is a solo mission."
"Why would you give it to more than 1 killjoy?" Jet asked.
"Because there will be a lot of Drac's trying to get the boy back." Dr.D answered.
"Why?" I asked, "He's just a kid."
"As were you." He said to me.
"Wait. Are you telling me, this boy, h-hes my brother?" I asked.
"No, we don't know that, we don't even know who your biological mother is, he is the next Drac."
"The next Drac? What does that mean?" I asked.
"Have you ever lifted the mask of a Drac?" Dr.D asked.
"No." I said.
"There all clones." Ghoul told me, "And about every 8-10 years they switch."
"So a normal mission you would assigned 2 fully trained killjoys, your giving me?" I asked.
"Kinda, I have decided to partner you up with another killjoy, like you going for there solo mission."
"So for my solo mission, I will be with someone else. Nice." I said sarcastically.
"He's name is Dark Night, he is 17."
"Looks like you got some competition Party." Ghoul said giggling and Party responded with punching him in the arm "Ow!" Ghoul said rubbing his arm.
"When do I start?"
"Dark is in the car outside." I looked out the window to see Dr.D's car and another car with someone inside. He stood up, "I'll be at Safe Haven waiting for you." And with that he walked out, I looked through the window and saw him lean in the car that Dark was in then get in his car and leave.
I got up but I was attacked in a bear hug by Ghoul, he told me to stay safe. I then gave Kobra and Jet there hugs.
"I'll walk you out.' Party said, we got outside and he pulled me into a long and passionate kiss. He pulled away and smiled at me took my hand and walked me to the car, he opened the door for me and I got inside and rolled down the window when he closed the door, he handed me my gun. "Be careful," He pecked my lips, "Keep her safe." He said to the boy next to me and left.
I turned to see my partner and he looked about 17, he was musclar and had blonde hair.
"Hi." He said and started to drive.
"Hey."
"Was that your boyfriend?" He asked.
"Yup." I said popping the p.
"Damn, all the hot ones are taken."
This was gonna be a long drive.
