In The Dark, I See You
Chapter 10: A Nice Date
Gerard P.O.V.
"Dude, how long have you've been dating Lindsey?" Frank asked.
"Five months, why?" I asked.
"Well, five months you've been dating her and you haven't taken her out on a date!" Frank said.
"What?" I said.
"You know what. We're going to make you guys go on a date," Frank said. He set his guitar on the stand.
"Yo! Mikey, Bob, Ray, get your asses over here." Frank called them over.
"The fuck do you want, Frank," Bob said.
"Gerard hasn't taken Lindsey out on a date!" Frank said.
"What. Dude." Mikey said.
"Why haven't you taken her out?" Ray asked.
"I don't know." I said rubbing my neck.
"What do you mean you don't know!" Bob said.
"I mean I don't know where to take her on a date," I said.
"Dude, just take her out to see a movie or dinner or something," Mikey said.
"I don't know guys," I said.
"You know what, we're taking you out to buy decent clothes for your date," Frank said.
"What! I haven't even plan a date and know you want to go shopping for the non-existing date?" I said.
"Oh, we're going to plan it." Frank said pulling me out of the building.
"Mikey, Bob, Ray, please help me!" I said.
Bob stopped Frank. At first I thought he was going to rescue me, but I was wrong! He picked me up and carry me to the car.
"This is not what I mean!" I said.
"Quit being bitching about it man," Mikey said.
"Fuck you," I mumbled.
-------------
"Give him these jeans!" Frank said throwing some jeans at Bob.
I am in the dressing room. Why the fuck am I here again? Oh yea, the imaginary date.
"Dude, don't throw things at me!" Bob said.
"Sorry." Frank said.
"Just get him some jeans! It doesn't matter how he's going on the date!" Ray said.
"Fine, give him the damn jeans!" Frank said.
Bob threw the jeans over the door. I tried on the jeans. I like them. I quickly got out of them and put on my jeans.
"Are you guys happy now that I got some new jeans," I said throwing the jeans at Frank's face.
"Ouch! Why do you have to be mean like that," Frank said rubbing his check.
"Because it's your fault that we're in the mall, now you pay for them since this was your idea," I said.
"Don't worry, I got this shit," Frank said.
"Really?" We all said.
"Nope!" Frank said and threw the jeans to Bob.
"Damn you motherfucker midget!" Bob said.
"Don't worry. I'll pay for it. Frank, you now owe me exactly one hundred bucks," Ray said.
"What!" Frank said.
"The jeans cost about thirty. You had owe me seventy bucks because I had won a bet, remember," Ray said.
"Oh yea." Frank said.
After Ray paid for my jeans, Mikey had bought me a nice leather jacket. Also Frank's idea. So now Frank owes both Ray and Mikey one hundred bucks.
-----------------
We were now back to our rehearsal room.
"You gotta call Lindsey!" Frank said handing me the phone.
"What the fuck do I tell her!" I asked.
"Ask her if she wants to see a scary movie." Frank said.
"Why a scary movie?" Mikey asked.
"So he can protect her when she gets scared," Frank said with a smile.
I rolled my eyes and dial Lindsey's number. She answers after three sings.
"Hey Gee!" Lindsey said.
"Hey Lindsey. Do you want to go see a movie with me this Friday?" I asked rubbing my neck.
Frank started to mimic me. I flipped him off and Bob punched his arm.
"Sure! What kind of movie are we seeing?" She asked.
"Uh, Saw," I said.
"Okay. What time are you going to pick me up?"
"Around seven."
"See you then!" Lindsey said.
I put my phone back to my pocket.
"Thank you for punching him for me," I said to Bob.
"No problem," he said.
"Now we have to wait to Friday!" Frank said.
"You know what, how about you ask a girl out, see how hard it is," Mikey said.
"Fine I will. But I gotta meet her first," Frank said.
---------------
"Knock, knock!" Frank said knocking my door.
Why the fuck is he here! I opened the door.
"Why are you here?"
"It's time for your date!" Frank said jumping up and down.
"Okay, so..." I said.
"So. I came here to tell you I have a date too." Frank said.
"Uh, Frank, I think you got the wrong Way," I said.
"I do?" Frank asked.
"Yeah. Mikey said that."
"Oh. Oops, my bad. Well, good luck on your date!" Frank called. "You too." I called back.
I change into my new jeans, a plain black shirt, and my new leather jacket. I then put on my shoes and head out to pick up Lindsey.
----------
I knock on the door. "Coming," I hear her say.
She opens the door. "Hey!" Lindsey said with a smile. She had on some black boots, black jeans, and a Iron Maiden shirt.
"You look nice," She said closing her door.
"You too," I said as we head to the car.
A lot of people probably don't notice body expression, but I usually do. When we were watching the movie, I saw something was bothering Lindsey.
During the whole movie, she didn't seem to jump when most people did. She kept licking her lips or biting them. She kept sighing too.
"Is everything okay?" I asked when we were in front of her door.
"Uh, yeah." She said not looking at me.
"Lindsey." I said holding her hand.
She bit her bottom lip again. "You know you can trust me," I said.
"Gerard, I'm leaving." Lindsey mumbled.
"What?" I said.
"I'm leaving Los Angeles," Lindsey said.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"New York City," Lindsey said.
"When are you coming back?" I asked.
"That's the thing. I don't think I'm going to be coming back," Lindsey said.
"Oh." I said.
"I'm sorry, Gerard." She said. I let go of her hand. "Gerard."
"I'll see you in a couple of years. Maybe." I said. I started to walk. Lindsey grabbed my hand.
"Gerard! I'm not leaving now. I'm leaving next week. On Monday actually. Please don't be mad at me." Lindsey said.
"Please forget about me." I manage to say.
"Why!" Lindsey protested.
"I said forget about me! Forget that we ever even dated, forget that we even met!" I said. I then began to walk and go to my car.
As I walk, I heard Lindsey cry. I cried as I headed back home.
I got out the beers and began to drink. When I was on my fifth can, I got a text message.
Lynz: Baby, put down the drink. Please don't hate me. Please don't drink. Stay strong for me. I love you. xoxo
I sighed and threw away the open beer. I got out all my beers and threw them away. I heard my phone beep.
Lynz: I'm sorry, Gerard. I will forget you, but I will never forget the rose you gave me.
I sighed. I'm going to miss her.
"Dude, how long have you've been dating Lindsey?" Frank asked.
